Welcome to Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights for January 2020 as we showcase the theme "Thank You". It is one of the most popular cards that we give and shows how much we appreciate the people we care about. Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world are sharing their amazing ideas to help inspire you. I hope you enjoy our blog hop today.
For my Thank You card design, I chose to use the two stamp sets from the Peaceful Poppies Suite in the new January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. The Painted Poppies stamp set (item #151599) has amazing images and coordinates beautifully with the wonderful sentiments in the Peaceful Moments stamp set (item #151595). I decided to use an alternative color combination for my design to show how versatile these products are. This card features Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the card base and the matte layers for the focal image and the sentiment. I paired it with Bermuda cardstock that I embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder (item #149634) that can be found in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. I love the subtle texture that this embossing folder adds to the cardstock.
The focal layer was created using a 3 1/2" x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock that I stamped with images from the Painted Poppies stamp set. The outline images were stamped with Blackberry Bliss Classic ink, the solid floral background image was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Classic ink and the speckled detail was stamped with Bermuda Bay Classic ink. I attached this layer to the 3 3/4" x 4" Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer and attached it to the Bermuda Bay layer with Snail adhesive.
To complete the card design, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Silver embossing powder and die cut it with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638) and attached it to a slightly larger label, die cut from Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I attached the sentiment label to the bottom of the card, lining the points of the label with the bottom of the focal layer. For a touch of bling, I added three small Basic Rhinestones to the focal design.
