Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights December 2019

Welcome to Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights for December. I am so happy to be a part of this amazing blog hop as we share projects that encourage the people around us, especially when they are going through challenging times. With the holidays upon us, it is even more important to let people know how special they are and how important they are to us.
For my card of encouragement this month, I created this soft and pretty birthday card design featuring the Beautiful Friendship stamp set (item #149252) and the Birch stamp set (item #149256). You might think that it is strange that I chose a birthday card as an encouragement card, but all too often people feel sad and depressed around their birthdays whether it is the thought of getting another year older or the fact that they may not have people around them to show them what a special occasion it is and help them celebrate. I feel like this card design is a perfect way to lift someone's spirits who happens to be celebrating another year of life on this earth. You can find all the products that I used for this card design in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.
To create this card design, I chose Grapefruit Grove as my card base added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock as the matte layer to frame the focal design. I stamped the Birch stamp using Crumb Cake Classic ink to create the background for my design onto Whisper White cardstock. Using a variety of stamps from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set, I stamped the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Classic ink, the flower buds with Grapefruit Grove Classic ink and the large multi floral image with Seaside Spray Classic ink. I love that this color combination is both warm and uplifting.
The sentiment I chose is also from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set and I heat embossed it with Silver embossing powder onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Everyday Label Punch (item #144668). I attached a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (item #146912) to the back of the label with Snail Adhesive, allowing the ends to stick out towards the bottom as a soft embellishment. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the sentiment label to the card front. To finish off the card, I added two Basic Rhinestones for a touch of bling.

When I look at this card design, I feel like I have captured the feel of a Spring garden and with the cold and snowy weather we are having here in Colorado, it is a welcome reminder that warmer days will be with us again.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today and I hope that you enjoyed my card design. I would love it if you would vote for my card this month as part of Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights. Please click the link below and click on the little heart above my card image. Thank you so much for your support.

This beautiful card focuses on paper, ink and stamps using two stamp sets, 4 ink colors and three colors of cardstock. I kept my tools to a minimum using the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment and I stamped the Birch stamp with the Stamparatus to create an even background. I kept the embellishments to a minimum so that it would be easy to mail. This design has so many possibilities as you can change the colors to reflect different seasons and it's a great way to experiment with different color combinations.

Until Next Time

Happy Stamping,
