SBTD October Blog Hop Leaves

Welcome to SBTD's October Blog Hop as we share projects created using our theme of Leaves. Whether you are celebrating Fall like we are here in the U.S. or Spring like they are in the Southern Hemisphere, it is fun to experiment with different color combinations to reflect the seasons. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world as we share our creative ideas to help inspire you.
I love the colors of Fall so I decided to focus on them for my card design. For the card base, I used the Gold Foil Edge card base with matching envelope (item 147901 set of 20 cards & envelopes) and added a layer of Cajun Craze as a matte to the focal layer.
Using a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I used the large leaf image from the Gather Together stamp set (item #150589) from the 2019 Annual Catalog to emboss two of the corners using Gold Embossing powder. I then embossed the other two corners with the leaf image from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (item #143726) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog using the Copper Embossing powder.
To color the leaves, I used the Watercolor Pencils (item #141709) and Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 (item #149014). I blended the colors together using a Blender Pen to give them a smooth watercolor look. The leaves were colored with a mix of Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. The background for the leaves was created using the Coastal Cabana Watercolor Pencil and I smoothed it out using the Blender Pen to give it a watercolor look.
The sentiment was created by heat embossing the sentiment from the Gather Together stamp set with Gold embossing powder onto a scrap of Cajun Craze cardstock. I punched it out using the Tailored Tag Punch (item #145667) and attached it to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I added two of the Gold Metallic Pearls (item #146282) to embellish the sentiment label to finish off the card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will help provide you with some ideas to help you create your own Fall projects. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.
