2018 Kre8tors October Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to the 2018 Ke8tors October Blog Hop. This month we have a color challenge featuring the wonderful colors in this Fall image. We have been challenged to use at least 3 of the colors from this image and we are also allowed to use Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Whisper White as our neutrals.
The colors for this challenge are perfect for Fall, so that was my theme for my card design. I was able to incorporate five colors plus Whisper White while creating a clean and simple card design.

My card base has been created using Gray Granite cardstock and I also used it to create the matte for the focal point of my design. I stamped the images onto Whisper White cardstock using the Sheltering Tree stamp set (item #137163) from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. This stamp set is wonderful for creating cards for any season and an old favorite that I decided to show some love.

The tree, rake and swing have all been stamped with Soft Suede Classic ink. The leaves were stamped with Pumpkin Pie Classic ink and then Real Red Classic ink, stamping it off once to reduce the intensity of the color to look more like the color Fall leaves. I stamped some random leaves around the tree and on the grass area with Pumpkin Pie Classic ink, stamping off once to give a different shade to the leaves. The grass was created by stamping with Granny Apple Green Classic ink, once again stamping off to provide a less vibrant green that fit with the Fall theme of the card design. I love that by stamping off or second generation stamping my images, it provided me with a greater variety of shades with my colors. I decided not to stamp a sentiment, giving it the feeling of a piece of framed art that might hang on the wall.
The Sheltering Tree stamp set has a wonderful variety of images and sentiments that makes it the perfect stamp set for year round card making. The photopolymer stamps make lining up images so much easier to use.

I hope that you have enjoyed my card design today and I hope our color challenge inspires you to give these colors a try when creating your own Fall themed projects.
