It's time to explore the world of Paper Pumpkin with the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop. This month we are exploring September's spooky Frights and Delights kit jam packed full of supplies to create wonderful treats. You may have just visited Debbi's blog or perhaps you are starting off here with me. I hope that you will find our creations frightfully inspiring for your Halloween projects.
I often hear people say that they wish they could create Halloween treats that don't have candy. So I thought I would create bookmarks using supplies from this month's kit along with some bits and pieces I have in my craft room. Kids love bright colors so I chose bold colors to create the bookmarks to create something fun.
The bat bookmark features a strip of 2"x8 1/2" Pumpkin Pie cardstock that I scored at 4 1/4". I embossed the cardstock using the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #143709) and stamped small bats with one of the stamp images from the kit using Memento Tuxedo Black ink randomly onto the cardstock. I attached the label from the kit to the bookmark, lining up the folds and centering it at the top. Using the 2" Circle Punch, I punched out a circle of Crushed Curry cardstock and from Gorgeous Grape cardstock I punched out circle with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch and layered them together. Next, I attached the Bat die cut from the kit and attached the circle to the top of the bookmark. I colored two Basic Rhinestones with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Marker and attached them to the bat to create eyes. For the final step, I attached the Spooky sticker to the bookmark and added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.
For the Ghost bookmark, I created it using Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the base and embossed it using the Swirls and Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #147923) from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. Using pieces from the kit, I assembled the bookmark, using a 2" Basic Black cardstock circle to attach the Ghost to make him pop. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the Ghost die cut and to the swirls on the background of the bookmark.
For the Jack-o-lantern bookmark, I followed the same directions as the previous two, but this time I used Basic Black cardstock for the base and embossed it using one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (item #145656). Using the 2" Circle Punch, I punched out a circle from a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and attached the pumpkin die cut to it. To add a little extra sparkle, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the Eeek sticker.
As you can see from the back, there is a space where you can personalize the bookmarks with the recipient's name to make it extra special. This Paper Pumpkin kit has so many wonderful possibilities and the good news is that the full kit and the refills are available from my Online store for Paper Pumpkin subscribers here.
