Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop for July. This month we are exploring Home Décor ideas to help you with your projects. You may have just visited Lisa's wonderful blog or perhaps you are starting your blog hop journey with me. I hope you will enjoy the creations we have to share with you.
For my projects, I chose to decorate two ceramic ornaments that I had left over from last Christmas. I love to create a special ornament for each family member to hang on the tree at Christmas. With Christmas in July in full swing, I thought this would be the perfect project to share with you.
It's wonderful that the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog has stamp sets for the holidays and I used several of these to decorate my ornaments, both front and back.
My first ornament features the reindeer image from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set (item #142043) and I stamped it onto the ornament using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the reindeer with my Stampin' Blend Markers using Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Bronze. I gently used the narrow tip to lightly add color onto the ornament, to prevent bleeding and to not damage the tip of the marker. The pine needles and holly berries were stamped using images from the new Mistletoe Season stamp set (item #146768). I used Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz and Real Red inks to stamp these images.
For the back of the ornament, I stamped the sentiment in the new Shaded Spruce Classic ink and repeated the pine needles and holly berries that I used on the front. I used the new Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels (item #146924) to embellish the holly berries on both the front and back of the ornament.
My second ornament features the cute Eskimo image and I once again stamped it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using Pool Party Light and Dark, Bermuda Light and Bronze Stampin' Blend Markers. The snowflakes were stamped using an image from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set (item #144820). I added the small Basic Rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes for a little bling.
For the back of the ornament, I stamped the sentiment from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in Bermuda Bay Classic ink as well as the small snowflake images. The large snowflakes were stamped using Pool Party Classic ink. The snowflake stamps are from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (item #143726). I used Basic Rhinestones to decorate the center of the snowflakes to match the front.
These ornaments are a fun project to create for the holidays and give as gifts for people to decorate their homes. Each ornament is a memory that will live on each Christmas to remind them of their loved ones.
