Around The World On Wednesday April Blog Hop This Or That

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday April Blog Hop and this month we are having some fun with a This or That challenge. We have been challenged to create two projects that share some similarities but are different, to see which you prefer - This or That. Our talented Design Team is excited to share their projects to see which one you prefer.
For my two cards, I chose the same layout using the Notes of Nature stamp set, Perennial Postage Dies and Stylish Shapes Dies. Both are clean and simple card designs but one is black and white while the other is a pink monochromatic design. This challenge was so much fun and I loved playing with the different designer series paper and making little changes that helped make one card different from the other. I hope you like them.

Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
3 Medium Rectangles die cut with the Perennial Postage Dies
Both of these cards are basically the same layout using different designer series papers to create unique designs. For the "This" card, I chose to emboss the Basic Black cardstock card front with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to add some wonderful texture. I chose black and white patterns from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack to create the focal rectangles and stamped the sentiment from the Notes of Nature stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. For embellishments, I used the Silver Pearls from the Festive Pearls, to add a touch of bling.
For the "That" Card, I chose patterns from the Bright & Beautiful 6"x6" Designer Series Paper pack to create an ombre look to the design. I chose one of the Bubble Bath ombre designs for the card front and then three different shades ranging from Bubble Bath to Berry Burst for the three rectangles. For this card, I chose to heat emboss the sentiment with Gold embossing powder onto the Berry Burst sentiment label to make it pop and I added Gold Sequins for a touch of bling. I also added a piece of Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon underneath the sentiment label to help step up the design.
So, I am curious. Which do you prefer? The Black & White This card or the Pink Monochromatic That Card? Let me know in the comments.

Around The World On Wednesday July Blog Hop CASE A Team Member Tag

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday July Blog Hop and this month we are CASEing fellow Design Team members, but with a twist. Our Team Leader, Angie McKenzie, has paired us up with a partner that we haven't worked with before, to CASE another Team member that neither of us have CASEd before and pick a color that we will both use in our projects. It's a fun way to get to know each other and spark our creativity at the same time. I hope you will enjoy this creative journey this month.
So, you may be asking, what does CASE mean? It stands for Copy And Share Everything and it's a great way to take inspiration from someone's else project to create your own. You can choose to copy the design exactly or take elements from the project such as the layout, color combination, product combination or some other element to create your own design. For today's blog hop, I am partnered with the wonderful Melissa Gifford and we decided to CASE our fellow Design Team member, Mikaela Titheridge, who just happens to be a Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team member. I love Mikaela's style and her use of color, so this was a fun challenge for me. Melissa and I decided to use Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon to create our projects using the card design below for our CASE. I love the layout of the card we chose (see Mikaela's blog post here) and wanted to use that for my card design.
I just love the clean and simple design of Mikaela's card design and the bright, cheerful color combination she chose. For my card design, I wanted to replicate the layout and find a way to create a bright, cheerful color combination, including Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock. For my focal images, I chose to use the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper as it has so many fun animal images that I felt would be the perfect fit for my card design.
Products Used:

Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink Pad (item #147145)
Ribbon Duo Combo Pack (item #161318)
2022-2024 In Color Pearls (item #161621)

Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
1"x 5 1/4" die cut with the Basic Borders Dies

1 Medium Circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Basic White Cardstock
3 Small Circles die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Sentiment Label die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper
Frog, Beaver and Turtle images fussy cut
To create my card design, I focused on using Lost Lagoon for the card base and Pretty Peacock for the card front. I chose 3 of the images from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper and fussy cut them out and attached them to the Basic White circles. I stamped the sentiment with Lemon Lime Twist Classic ink onto the Basic White label. I die cut the Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock strips with one of the Basic Borders Dies and staggered the layers to create a border pattern. I added a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon down the center of the border layer and then attached the layer to the card front on the left side. I attached the beaver to the center of the Lemon Lime Twist circle and the frog and turtle to the Lost Lagoon circles, slightly off center. To assemble the card, I attached the sentiment first towards the right side of the card front, near the center. I added the turtle and frog to the top and bottom of the card front, towards the right side, slightly overlapping the sentiment label. To finish off the card design, I added the beaver circle with Stampin' Dimensionals towards the center left side of the card front so that it overlapped both the turtle and frog circles. For a touch of bling, I added several Parakeet Party Pearls to the card front.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try CASEing to spark your creativity. You will be amazed at how many ways there are to use elements from projects created by others, to give you a starting point to create your own works of art. Don't forget to check out my partner, Melissa Gifford's project, to see how she was inspired by Mikaela's card design.
Now it's time to visit Teri's blog and see who she CASEd with her partner this month. We would love it if you would leave us a comment and let us know what you think about our projects. I hope you enjoy the rest of our blog hop.

New At SU June Blog Hop Kid's Cards Zany Zoo

Today we are hopping with the New At SU June Blog Hop as we showcase Kids Cards. Our talented Design Team members will be sharing their fun and creative projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects using products from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.
Creating cards for kids can be challenging but also so much fun. For today's card design, I decided to create an Accordion Fun Fold that was inspired by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Jacque Williams (you can watch her You Tube video here) using products from the Zoo Crew Suite in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I love the fun animals in this suite and I thought they would be perfect for a kid's birthday card. The colors I chose are from the Zany Crew Designer Series Paper (which is on sale during the month of June) and include Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic White and I use a variety of Stampin' Blends Markers to add a pop of color to the focal images. The cute flute playing frogs have been die cut directly from one of the sheets of the designer series paper with one of the small circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I love how interactive this fun fold design is and I am sure that any child would love to receive it to celebrate their special day.

Stamped & die cut images with the Zany Zoo Bundle
Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper
Strip - 1" x 5 1/4"
2 Frog images die cut using the Small Circle Die from the Stylish Shapes Dies
This Accordion Fun Fold has that Simply Wow factor that kids are sure to love. I chose to use bright cheerful colors to bring it to life. The accordion mechanism on the inside of the card is simple to create and I got the idea from fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Jacque Williams here. Simply score the Basic White cardstock using the measurements above. I layered Lemon Lime Twist on the front and inside panels of the card to help make the card pop and I colored the alligator, balloon and raccoon images using Stampin' Blends Markers. For the inside accents, I die cut out two of the flute playing frogs from the designer series paper using one of the small circles dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Basic White small circle and then layered each of the circles onto Granny Apple Green cardstock circles to create a frame for each one. I attached the circles to the inside folds so that they were staggered from left to right, with the sentiment in the center and the frogs facing it from each side. The cute little raccoon was left over from when I stamped and die cut the balloons image and I colored it and attached it to the bottom left corner of the inside of the card to give the impression he is peeking in. For a touch of bling, I added some Gold Pastel Adhesive Backed Gems and to finish off the front design, I added a small bow tied with Parakeet Party Baker's Twine. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to give this Accordion Fun Fold a try.
