Around The World On Wednesday August Blog Hop Never Ever Grow Up

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday August Blog Hop as we explore our theme of Never Ever Growing Up. When I think of this month's theme, I think of Peter Pan and other childhood favorites that I have shared with my children. Our Design Team will be sharing their wonderful projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own projects using this theme. Whether it is a project for the kids in your life, or someone who is a kid at heart, there are so many wonderful possibilities. 

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year because everyone gets to be a kid and enjoy the holiday season. With this in mind, I wanted to create a fun and whimsical Christmas card using then new Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack and coordinating Santa Express Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. I decided that the cute Hippos from the Hippest Hippos stamp set, should be dressed for the cold weather and I used some of the images from the Penguin Place stamp set to get them ready for the holidays. This sweet Christmas card works well for people of all ages who love to feel like a kid during the holidays.

Hat, scarf, tree & antlers stamped and fussy cut from Penguin Place stamp set

For this clean and simple card design, it really was as simple as picking out one of the 4"x6" cards from the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack and attaching it to the front of the Shaded Spruce card base from the Santa Express Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. If you are looking to make quick and simple Christmas cards this year, these products are a must. To step up the card design, I stamped two of the hippos using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and die cut them out with the coordinating Hippos Dies. I then used Stampin' Blends Markers to color the images to bring them to life. For the accessories, I stamped the hat and scarf using Soft Succulent Classic ink and the antlers with Soft Suede Classic ink. For the Christmas tree, I stamped the image with Shaded Spruce Classic ink and removed the ink from the trunk with a Blender Pen. I then colored the trunk with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker and stamped it onto the Basic White cardstock. Using Paper Snips, I fussy cut out each of these elements and then added then to the hippos. I adhered the hippos to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals on either side of the sentiment banner. To complete the card design, I added several small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the centers of the stars in the sky. I love how this card design turned out and I love that the hippos can be used all year round just by changin their accessories.

We Create December Blog Hop Holiday Quickies

 

Welcome to the We Create December Blog Hop as we showcase quick project ideas to help you get ready for the holidays. With just a few weeks to go until Christmas, there are still wonderful projects you can create to share with family and friends that don't have to take a lot of your time. You will be visiting with our Design Team members as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you.

One of the best ways to create Christmas cards quickly and simply is by using designer series paper. The designs create a beautiful background and you can get six card fronts from one 12"x12" sheet of designer series paper. For my quick Christmas card today, I chose to use one of the designs from the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper for the background and I die cut one of the stockings from another sheet using the coordinating Stockings Dies. The wonderful thing about this card design is that there is mininal stamping involved - just the sentiment, and you can create multiples of the same card in a short amount of time. This design is great for mailing as it has a low profile that won't cost you extra postage. This design would also be perfect for a masculine Christmas card for the guys in your life.

Clean and simple cards are my favorite style to create. I love being able to use designer series paper to create beautiful cards and it also gives me the option to create different looks by mixing and matching the paper designs. The Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper has a wonderful combination of patterns and images that provides a lot of options for backgrounds and focal images for cards. For this card design, I wanted it to be suitable to send to both men and women so I chose the one of the stockings for my focal image and I love that I could use the coordinating dies to avoid having to fussy cut. The Stitched So Sweetly Dies are great for die cutting labels for the focal image and I had room at the bottom to stamp the sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set with Old Olive Classic ink. For a touch of bling, I used two of the Cherry Cobbler dots from the Matte Decorative Dots and I love that they have a low profile that works well for mailing. The Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper, Stockings Dies and Matte Decorative Dots are all part of the Stockings Suite in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and are part of the Last Chance Retirememt Sale which began today. This cute shaker card features the adorable Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper, which is a Sale-a-bration Reward you can earn free with a qualifying $50 order. For the sentiment, I used the Double Ovals Punch with the sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. I love the way this card design showcases the beautiful paper while adding some sparkle and fun for the holidays.

This fun shaker card is simple to create and a great way to showcase pretty designer series paper. I slid the piece of designer series paper inside the clear envelope and folded the top edge over to create a snug fit across the front and attached the flap to the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. I then added the Subtle Shimmer Sequins inside the front of the envelope so that they sprinkle over the front of the card. I attached the end flap to the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive so that it is snug so the sequins can't get out and spread to the back of the card. I attached this layer to the Misty Moonlight cardstock layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Using the Light Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Marker, colored both pieces of Glittered Organdy ribbon and attached the longer piece accross the bottom of the card front and attached the ends to the back. With the shorter piece of ribbon, I tied a knot around the longer piece on the right side of the card front and trimmed the edges. I then attached this layer to the Balmy Blue card base. To complete the card design, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set with White Embossing Powder onto the Misty Moonlight cardstock oval and then attached it to the Balmy Blue Scalloped Oval. I attached the sentiment label to the top right corner of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I love the way the clear envelope creates a pocket to hold the sequins so that when you shake the card, they move around the card front. It's so much fun and sure to bring a smile to the person receiving it.

There are so many cute animal images on the sheets in this paper pack, so I decided to fussy cut two of them to create my card design. For the sentiment, I chose the Penguin Place stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. I love that it has sentiments for a variety of occasions. For the background, I used the snowflake embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders that are available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper

Fox and Blue Bird images fussy cut 

This cute clean and simple birthday card focuses on the cute images from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. There are so many cute images to choose from and it was hard to decide which images to choose for this card. I fussy cut out the fox and blue bird and attached them to the Basic White cardstock circle. I layered it onto the Misty Moonlight scallop circle to add a border around the focal circle. For the background, I embossed the Balmy Blue cardstock with the snowflakes embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. I ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine twice, once for the top half of the cardstock and the second time for the bottom half. I attached a piece of the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon across the front of the Balmy Blue cardstock layer to hide the join line and attached the circle layer on top with Stampin' Dimensionals. For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with Misty Moonlight Classic ink and stamped the small snowflakes with Balmy Blue Classic ink onto the Basic White oval. I layered it onto the Misty Moonlight scallop oval layer and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the card, I attached several of the silver sequins from the Subtle Shimmer Sequins for a touch of bling.
