We Create April Blog Hop Bunnies & Bears

Welcome to the We Create April Blog Hop as we showcase our theme of Bunnies and Bears. Our Design Team Members will be sharing fun projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own wonderful projects.
For my card design, I chose to use the bear from the Count On Me stamp set. I wanted to create a card that would provide comfort and support and I really liked the sentiments in this stamp set. I paired it with the retiring You're A Peach Designer Series Paper with this pretty Balmy Blue polka dot pattern. I wanted to create a card that would help brighten someone's day and let them know they were loved.

I love using designer series paper to create clean and simple cards. This pretty polka dot paper creates the perfect background for my card and the Poppy Parade hearts add a wonderful pop of color. I heat embossed the sentiment with Silver embossing powder to step up the design and I colored the bear using Stampin' Blends Markers. This adorable bear is easy to color and works well for a variety of occasions.

Around The World On Wednesday January Blog Hop CASE The Mini Switcharoo

Welcome to the Around The World On Wedensday January Blog Hop as we start off the New Year with the theme "CASE the Mini Switcharoo". Basically, that means we have been challenged to CASE a project featured in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog but we have to use a different stamp set and different colors than the sample project. But wait, there is a twist. If we happened to choose a page that had projects designed by Stampin' Up!'s Master Stamper, Cindy Schuster, we could choose to use the same products and colors as she did in her projects. Now below is the photo of the page that I chose to CASE a project from in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog and Surprise! I chose Cindy's projects to CASE. Which makes me very happy because I just love this stamp set that she used and I love the colors that she chose.
So with all of that in mind, I chose to recreate the cute cat with the gold fish card using the Catch You Later stamp set. This set of samples can be found on page 63 of the Mini Catalog and I hope that my card and Cindy's wonderful samples will inspire you to create your own wonderful projects. If you would like to view the recipes for the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog, click here to download the free PDF Recipe list.
For my CASE of Cindy's card, I chose to create a full size card instead of the 3" square card she created for the catalog. I added a Balmy Blue cardstock card base and I used the Hippo & Friends Dies to create the opening for the card instead of the Label Me Lovely Punch that Cindy used for her card design. For the card front, I used the same piece of You're A Peach Designer Series Paper but instead of ribbon, I chose to use half of a Misty Moonlight Doily to embellish the card front. For the most part, I kept my card design the same as Cindy's original card with just a few small changes. I love how this card turned out and I love this adorable stamp set. I can't wait to try the other samples that Cindy has on this page of the catalog.

As I am a cat person, this card was so much fun for me to CASE. I chose to use the Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend Marker to color my kitty so that it more closely resembles one of my own cats. I used the Color Lifter to lighten and blend the fur, especially around the face. For the fish, I chose to use the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Markers and I used the Pumpkin Pie Classic ink to stamp the sentiment to coordinate with the fish. For the water in the bowl, I used the Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Markers and colored over it with Clear Wink of Stella to give it shimmer. To make sure the cat image is positioned in the right place on the Basic White cardstock layer, I used a pencil to trace around the edge of the die cut opening and also marks at the corners to help line the designer series paper layer on top. I popped up the designer series paper with Stampin' Dimensionals to attach it to the Basic White layer to add dimension to the design. For the doily, I cut it in half and attached one half across the lower section of the opening just below the fish bowl. I then added the Stitched Rectangle sentiment label along the top edge of the doily, making sure to center it. For a touch of bling, I added two small Basic Rhinestones to complete the card design. I love that I was able to take Cindy's original card design and make some small changes to make it my own.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the beautiful samples in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog and try CASEing to create your own beautiful projects.

Global Stamping Friends October Blog Hop Wood Grain

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop as we showcase projects with a Wood Grain theme. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their ideas to help inspire you. Stampin' Up! has so many wonderful products that are perfect for this theme and I can't wait to share some of them with you.
For my take on the Wood Grain theme, I chose to use one of the designs from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I love that this pack of paper has such a wonderful variety of wood grain colors and textures that look so realistic you feel like you can touch the boards. I chose a rustic board design for the background for my card design that pops against the Real Red cardstock for the card base and the stitched Real Red Ribbon that I used to embellish the sentiment. To create the focal design and sentiment for this card, I chose the Joyful Life stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. This stamp set has cute images and wonderful sentiments to create fun all occasion cards.
Products Used:
Joyful Life stamp set (item #156529)
In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (item #152494)
Hippo & Friends Dies (item #153585)
Real Red Cardstock (item #102482)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (item #147114)
Ivory/Bronze Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item 154922)
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #147116)
Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154899)
Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154885)
Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154830)
Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack (item #152466)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Real Red Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
In Good Taste Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock
Focal Label die cut with Hippo & Friends Dies
Sentiment Label die cut with Hippo & Friends Dies
This fun clean and simple card design works well for a variety of occasions. I love the cute little hedgehog with his bowl full of apples and he was so cute to color with Stampin' Blends Markers. I love the contrast of the red and green apples for a splash of color along with the red apron and I used the Ivory Stampin' Blends Marker to color the face hands and feet to create a slight contrast with the Crumb Cake for the body. I used Light Crumb Cake for the ground and blended it with the Color Lifter.  I added a piece of the Real Red Stitched Ribbon around the bottom of the card front and added the sentiment label over the top with Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card design, I added a bow next to the sentiment label on top of the ribbon with a Mini Glue dot. I love how the wood grain background makes everything pop and ties in with the nature theme for the card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Online Store. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to add Wood Grain elements to your projects. It is a great way to add texture and detail to help bring your projects to life.

We Create August Blog Hop School Daze

Welcome to the We Create August Blog Hop and this month our theme is School Daze. It's hard to believe that soon kids will be going back to school to start a new year. Hop along with our design team members as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you.
Going back to school is a time full of emotions - excitement, anxiety, happy to see friends, sad that the Summer is over. I can remember my own kids getting ready for their first day of school and it was always a time of confusion mixed with a little stress as we prepared for the new school year. So I decided to create a card that would be encouraging and cheerful that would help someone face that first day with just a little more confidence, knowing someone loved them and was there for them. I chose to use the new Counting Sheep stamp set and coordinating Sheep Dies, both from the Sale-a-bration August-September 2021 Catalog, that launches August 3rd. You can earn both of these products for Free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration. I paired them with the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper, which is a Host Reward product that you can also earn Free with a qualifying party/order.
Products Used:
Counting Sheep stamp set (item #156591) Sale-a-bration Reward
Sheep Dies (item #156600) Sale-a-bration Reward
Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (item #155426) Host Reward
Hippo & Friends Dies (item #153585)
Coastal Cabana Cardstock (item #131297)
Crushed Curry Cardstock (item #131199)
Pumpkin Pie Cardstock (item #105117)
Poppy Parade Cardstock (item #119793)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154904)
Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154893)
Color Lifter (item #144608)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Coastal Cabana Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Large Layer die cut with Hippo & Friends Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Piece for stamped sheep image die cut with Sheep Dies
Sentiment Layer die cut with Hippo & Friends Dies
Pattern Party Designer Series Paper
Background Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
Crushed Curry Cardstock
Sun die cut with Sheep Dies
Balloon die cut with Sheep Dies
Poppy Parade Cardstock
Balloon die cut with Sheep Dies
Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
Balloon die cut with Sheep Dies
This card design focuses on bright colors to contrast with the Basic White for the sentiment label and the sheep image. I love the bold, bright stripes of the designer series paper and chose the colors for the cardstock from this pretty paper. I layered the designer series paper onto the Basic White cardstock layer and then attached it to the Coastal Cabana card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. For the sentiment layer, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then adhered it to the Coastal Cabana layer. I attached these layers to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the sheep, I stamped the image onto Basic White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Petal Pink and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers to add color. I used the Color Lifter to blend the Smoky Slate on the sheep's body. Using the coordinating Sheep Dies, I die cut the sheep and adhered it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, so that it slightly overlaps the sentiment label. To decorate the card, I die cut the sun and one of the balloons from Crushed Curry cardstock, another balloon from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the final balloon from Poppy Parade cardstock. I attached the sun to the upper left side of the sentiment label and the balloons were attached with Stampin' Dimensions under the balloons and the strings adhered under the hoof of the sheep to hide the ends. To finish off the design, I colored the balloons, sun and sheep image with Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to get creative and brighten someone's day. The July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration August-September 2021 Catalog both launch August 3rd, with amazing new products to help spark your creativity.
