Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop as we showcase projects with a Wood Grain theme. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their ideas to help inspire you. Stampin' Up! has so many wonderful products that are perfect for this theme and I can't wait to share some of them with you.
For my take on the Wood Grain theme, I chose to use one of the designs from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I love that this pack of paper has such a wonderful variety of wood grain colors and textures that look so realistic you feel like you can touch the boards. I chose a rustic board design for the background for my card design that pops against the Real Red cardstock for the card base and the stitched Real Red Ribbon that I used to embellish the sentiment. To create the focal design and sentiment for this card, I chose the Joyful Life stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. This stamp set has cute images and wonderful sentiments to create fun all occasion cards.

This fun clean and simple card design works well for a variety of occasions. I love the cute little hedgehog with his bowl full of apples and he was so cute to color with Stampin' Blends Markers. I love the contrast of the red and green apples for a splash of color along with the red apron and I used the Ivory Stampin' Blends Marker to color the face hands and feet to create a slight contrast with the Crumb Cake for the body. I used Light Crumb Cake for the ground and blended it with the Color Lifter. I added a piece of the Real Red Stitched Ribbon around the bottom of the card front and added the sentiment label over the top with Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card design, I added a bow next to the sentiment label on top of the ribbon with a Mini Glue dot. I love how the wood grain background makes everything pop and ties in with the nature theme for the card design.
