The Joy of Sets April Blog Hop Birthdays

Happy Saturday everyone! It's time to hop along with The Joy Of Sets April Blog Hop as we celebrate Birthdays this month. We have so many wonderful ideas to help inspire you to create your own special birthday projects for the people you love.
My birthday card design features the Seaside Notions stamp set (item #149278), one of my forgotten favorites from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. To go along with the seaside theme, I combined it with the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (item #149577) to add texture to the background.
The colors I chose for this card design include Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight. I chose Coastal Cabana cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock as a frame for the Pool Party cardstock layer. I embossed the Pool Party cardstock with the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder and attached it to the Bermuda Bay layer with Snail adhesive. For the sentiment, I used a strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment using Silver Embossing Powder.
The sea horse image was stamped onto Thick Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored the image using the Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Markers. I fussy cut the image using Paper Snips and then colored around the edges with the Light Pool Party Stampin' Blend Marker to soften the edges. I used Daffodil Delight 1/4" Ruched Ribbon (item #151311) to create a border on either side of the sentiment and added a small bow with a Mini Glue Dot to the bottom ribbon. To complete the card design, I added three small Basic Rhinestones to the card front above the seahorse to give the impression of bubbles.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my birthday card design will inspire you to try creating your own special birthday cards to celebrate the people that you love.

SBTD March Blog Hop CASE The Catalog

It's time to hop along with the SBTD March Blog Hop as we CASE the catalogs for inspiration. What does CASE mean? It can stand for Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit, but basically it means that we take a sample project shared in one of the Stampin' Up! catalogs and create our own version of it. I hope you enjoy the projects and ideas we have to share with you this month.
For my CASE, I chose a card on page 28 of the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog created using the Beautiful Moments stamp set (item #151677). This stunning stamp set was designed by $1 Million Sales Achiever, Jacque Williams, and I just love the wonderful images in this set. I chose to recreate the card using the two little girls on the beach because it reminded me of my daughters when they were young.
For my card design, I chose to use the same layout as the original card but I wanted to use a different color palette. I chose to use So Saffron cardstock for the card base and I added a layer of Seaside Spray cardstock that I embossed using the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (item #149577). I traced the embossed wave patterns with Clear Wink of Stella to give the background a slight shimmer.
To create the focal design, I die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638) and stamped the sentiment and the image of the girls with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the die cut. I colored the image using Seaside Spray, So Saffron, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Markers. I also die cut a slightly larger die cut from So Saffron cardstock using the next largest die from the same die set. For the ribbon embellishment, I chose to use Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (item #146912) and attached it to the So Saffron die cut with Snail adhesive. I attached the focal panel to the So Saffron die cut with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals over the top of the ribbon.
To complete the card design, I attached the focal design to the card front using Snail adhesive, centering it on the card. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the colored image for a touch of sparkle to finish off the design.

I love how this card design turned out and how I was able to transform the original with just a few simple changes such as the colors I used, the ribbon for the embellishments, the embossing folder for the background and using Stampin' Blends Markers to color the image instead of a softer water color look. By CASEing the samples in the catalogs, you have endless opportunities to create your own beautiful projects and make them your own.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design inspires you to use the samples in the Stampin' Up! catalogs to create your own wonderful projects.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop A Little Smile

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop featuring the June kit, A Little Smile. This kit was created to help us all share a little love with a smile through random acts of kindness. It's amazing the difference a handmade card can make in someone's life. Today we will be sharing alternative ideas that you can create using supplies from this fun kit that is perfect for Summer.
I love the beach feel to this month's kit and it immediately drew me to the new Seaside Notions Cling stamp set (item #149278) as a great way to use the supplies in this kit to create a fun ocean themed card. The coordinating colors in this kit are perfect for a masculine card so I chose to create my alternative card design with this in mind.
For the card base, I chose to use Coastal Cabana cardstock and used Crumb Cake cardstock to create the matte for the focal point of this card design. The background of the focal design was created by taking one of the small note cards and cutting it in half to separate the colorful watercolor front part of the card from the back half of the card. I attached the front section of the note card to the Crumb Cake cardstock layer to create the look of being under the sea with the sand along the bottom.
I embossed the card base using the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (item #149577) to create the look and texture of waves. The sea horse image was stamped onto Pretty Peacock cardstock using Versamark ink and I heat embossed it with the new Shimmer White Embossing powder (item #149511). It's hard to see from the photos, but the shimmer and sparkle of the embossing powder really pops against the Pretty Peacock cardstock. I fussy cut the sea horse out using my Paper Snips.
To embellish the focal panel, I added two of the seaweed die cuts from the kit to the watercolor piece and attached the sea horse on top. On the opposite side I added one of the sparkly sand dollar die cuts from the kit and the attached the panel to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the bottom of the tail of the sea horse to the card front.
For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the exclusive stamp set in the kit, onto the label, also from the kit, using the Coastal Cabana ink spot (you guessed it, also included in the kit). To decorate the sentiment, I used some of the twine from the kit and wrapped it around each end of the label. I added some Snail Adhesive to the back of the label to hold the twine in place.

I love how simple it was to convert the smaller size card included in this kit into a full size card, while still making use of  a lot of the supplies in the kit. The Seaside Notions Cling stamp set and High Seas 3D Embossing Folder both coordinate beautifully with this kit to provide even more options for creating alternative projects.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog to day. I hope that my card design helps you see the amazing possibilities available with this kit and how you can pair it with products in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. If you live in the U.S. and you do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.
