ICS February Blog Hop Sale-a-bration Inspiration

It's time to hop along with the ICS February Blog Hop with our theme this month being "Sale-a-bration Inspiration". With less than two weeks left to take advantage of the wonderful Sale-a-bration products you can earn free with a qualifying order, our Design Team members have created some wonderful projects to help inspire you.
It's hard to believe that Sale-a-bration is almost over and I took a lot of time to decide what I products I wanted to showcase to inspire you. In the end, I chose one Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, one of my favorites, and added the Essential Tag Punch, which is one of the products that was added recently as a Sale-a-bration Level 1 Reward. I wanted to show how you can create a beautiful clean and simple card design that will work for a variety of occasions. The two panels that make up the card front have been cut from the same sheet of designer series paper. I started by cutting a 4" x 5 1/4" piece and then cut a 1"x 5 1/4" strip off one side of this piece, and flipped it over to have the reverse side up. As you can see, this is a simple technique that opens up new possibilities for your card designs.

Measurements:
Old Olive Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Tag punched out with the Essential Tag Punch
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" - cut into 2 pieces 1" x 5 1/4" & 3" x 5 1/4"
The secret to this clean and simple card design, is the assembly of the card front. After cutting your pieces of designer series paper, you adhere them to the piece of Basic White cardstock to provide stability as one layer. To hide the seam, I attached a piece of Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon over the top of the seam, attaching the ends to the back of the Basic White cardstock layer. I love that this ribbon is a close match to the Old Olive cardstock and adds just a touch of sparkle to the design. I then attached this layer to the card base. For the sentiment label, I used the Essential Tag Punch to punch it out from a piece of Old Olive cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Framed Florets stamp set using White embossing powder. I attached the label to the card front, lining up the short straight edge with the right side of the card front. To embellish the card, I added a White Classic Matte Dot to the sentiment label and several Brushed Brass Butterflies to the designer series paper card front to complete the design. I love the fresh Spring feel of this card design, which would be suitable for a variety of occasions. This simple layout can be used with your choice of designer series paper to create your own unique designs.

Global Stamping Friends February Blog Hop Stamp Free

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends February Blog Hop as we explore the theme "Stamp Free". This theme can be taken in several different ways, including creating a project with "Free stamps" like the free stamp sets available during Sale-a-bration or perhaps a project which does not use any stamps. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their take on this month's theme to share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative.
For my card today, I decided to go with a no stamping design using the Amazing Thanks Dies, an old favorite from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I love the flowing script of the words in this die set and I thought they would work well with the pretty designs in the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward you can earn free with a qualifying order ($50 in the U.S.) I added a vellum oval to create a soft layer behind the sentiment and some die cut leaves to step up the design. I love the organic feel of this layout and how simple it was to create.
Products Used:
Amazing Thanks Dies (item #157816)
Framed Florets Dies (item #160523)
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (item #160834) Sale-a-bration Level 1 Reward
Old Olive Cardstock (item #100702)
Mossy Meadow Cardstock (item #133676)
Lovely Layers Vellum 3 3/4" x 5" (item #158919)
Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154892)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Measurements:
Old Olive Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Score at 4 1/4")
Mossy Meadow Cardstock
Sentiment Words die cut with the Amazing Thanks Dies
Assorted Leaves die cut with the Framed Florets Dies
Lovely Layers Vellum - Plain
Large Oval die cut with the Framed Florets Dies
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This pretty monochromatic card design focuses on the beautiful designer series paper background and the assortment of die cuts that help create the focal design. I chose Mossy Meadow and Old Olive from the colors used in the designer series paper to create this card. I chose to use the Lovely Layers Vellum for the oval because I love the size of the pieces of vellum in this pack. It's a wonderful way to have a supply of vellum on hand ready to use. For the sentiment, I trimmed the Thanks die cut to remove the "s" and then adhered it and the You die cut to the vellum oval. Using Mini Glue Dots, I attached the vellum oval to the designer series paper card front, hiding the Glue Dots behind the letters so that they don't show through the vellum. I added the die cut leaves to the top left and bottom right corners of the vellum oval, hiding the ends of the stems behind the sentiment letters. To complete the design, I colored several Basic Rhinestones with the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the vellum oval and several of the leaves. This clean and simple Thank You card has an elegant feel to it that would also work for other occasions.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore creating projects "stamp free". There are so many wonderful options to choose from.

Ink. Stamp. Share. January Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the start of a New Year with the Ink. Stamp. Share. January Showcase Blog Hop. Our amazing Design Team will be sharing their wonderful projects and ideas to help spark your creativity as well as share products from the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog. There are so many great new products available for you to explore.
One of my favorite things to do is to create pretty clean and simple cards with designer series paper. I have fallen in love with the beautiful Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward and I have been exploring ways to use it with products from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I recently bought the Sending Smiles Bundle and I decided to pair it with one of the designs from this paper pack, using Gold accents to help step up the design. The wonderful thing about the Sending Smiles Bundle is that it is full of beautiful sentiments and coordinating dies to cut them out, which makes creating clean and simple cards so much easier. I chose to create a birthday card but you really can use any of the sentiments in this bundle with this pretty paper to create a variety of cards.
Products Used:
Sending Smiles Bundle (item #158707)
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (item #160834) Sale-a-bration Level 1 Reward
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (item #133675)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Fresh Freesia Classic Ink Pad (item #155611)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Brushed Brass Butterflies (item #158136)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Measurements:
Blackberry Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Sending Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Sending sentiment heat embossed & die cut with the Sending Dies
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Gold Foil Sheets
3 Small flowers die cut with the Sending Dies
This pretty card design is so simple to create and uses one of my favorite techniques, heat embossing, to help take it to the next level. This particular designer series paper has a lovely pale lavender color for the background, so when I heat embossed the Sending sentiment with Gold embossing powder onto the Basic White cardstock, it seemed a bit out of place. My solution was to take a Blending Brush and gently sponge Fresh Freesia Classic ink over the embossed sentiment to transform the Basic White background into a similar light purple color that coordinates with the designer series paper. With a tissue, I gently wiped off the embossed sentiment to remove any excess ink and bring the shine back to the Gold embossing. For the smaller sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and used the coordinating die to die cut it out. I attached the Sending sentiment to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and then added the narrow Blackberry Bliss sentiment below it with adhesive, centering under the larger sentiment. To embellish the card, I die cut several small Gold flowers using one of the dies from the Sending dies and attached them to the card front. I added small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the centers for a touch of bling. To finish off the design, I added two of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card front, near either end of the large sentiment. I really love how the sentiments dress up this pretty paper to create a soft and pretty birthday card.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own wonderful projects to send to family and friends. Global Stamping Friends January Blog Hop Happy New Year

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends January Blog Hop as we celebrate the New Year. Our wonderful Design Team members are excited to share their projects and ideas with you to help inspire you to get creative in 2023. With the launch of the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog, there are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.
Today I thought I would share a pretty clean and simple birthday card created with the new Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Reward you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying $50 order. This particular design was cut from one of the sheets which has multiple designs that can be used to create a variety of products. I wanted it to be the focal image, so I chose to use the Something Fancy Bundle to create the sentiment so that it enhances the design rather than overpower it. I love the small coordinating die for this sentiment as it is perfect for these smaller sentiments and I struggle to cut straight lines to cut out small sentiments and have them look good. This die really does take the stress out of it for me and I am sure that I will be putting it to good use in the future.
Products Used:
Something Fancy Bundle (item #160425) New Mini product
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (item #160834) New Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward
Fresh Freesia Cardstock (item #155613)
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock (item #115316)
Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad (item #147091)
2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds (item #159185)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 3/4"
Sentiment Matte Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
This card design is all about the layers, with the Rich Razzleberry and Fresh Freesia cardstock providing a perfect frame for the designer series paper layer. I chose these two colors from the list of coordinating colors on the back of the designer series paper pack. This is a great feature that helps you pick colors that will work well with the designs in this paper pack and saves you so much time and stress trying to work it out yourself. For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday with Rich Razzleberry onto the Fresh Freesia cardstock label and then added it to the Rich Razzleberry Label, slightly offsetting it, to help it stand out against the floral background. The beauty of this smaller sentiment is that it doesn't cover up the pretty flowers and helps balance out the card design. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Fresh Freesia Opal Rounds and I love that look a little like rain drops. This pretty card design can be used for a variety of occasions, throughout the year.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my clean and simple card design will help inspire you to explore the wonderful new products in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog, to create your own beautiful projects.

Remember, during Sale-a-bration, you can earn Free exclusive products with qualifying orders. The Something Fancy Bundle is a wonderful combination of sentiments and coordinating dies that works well with this beautiful paper as well as other products you may already own.

Note: The Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle (item #160675) on page 55 of the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. This bundle has a wonderful combination of both floral images and sentiments that would work well with this pretty paper.
