Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 19 - Lemon Lolly

It's time for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and for Week 19 we are showcasing Lemon Lolly from the Subtles Collection. This lovely, cheerful yellow is so pretty and I wanted to use the Simply Zinnias stamp set for the focal design for this card.
For my clean and simple card design, I decided to pair the Simply Zinnia stamp set with the new Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder to add some wonderful texture to the card design. For the sentiment, I chose to use the Comforting Thoughts stamp set, which has a wonderful range of greetings to choose from. I wanted to create a card design that would be uplifting and help provide comfort to someone going through a difficult time. I think the finished card has achieve that goal.

For my clean and simple card design, I wanted to showcase this pretty yellow without it being too overwhelming. I chose to use Thick Basic White cardstock for the card base to help make the Lemon Lolly card front pop and then used Basic White cardstock for the focal circle and sentiment label to help balance out the design and add contrast. For the focal image, I used the single Zinnia flower and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Basic White cardstock circle and then colored the image with the Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends Combo Pack. I embossed the Lemon Lolly card front with the new Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder to add an almost symmetrical design and then added some shading with the Lemon Lolly Classic ink and a Blending Brush to bring out the detail in the design. I attached the card front to the card base and then added the circle focal image to the center of the card front to align with the embossed detail. For the sentiment, I chose one of the greetings from the Comforting Thoughts stamp set and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Basic White sentiment label die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. For a touch of shimmer, I colored over the zinnia image with Clear Wink of Stella. To finish off the design, I added two of the small Lemon Lolly Dots to the sentiment label. I love how this soft and pretty card design turned out and I hope it will help to brighten someone's day.
