Stamping With Friends May Blog Hop Pocket Card

It's time to hop along with the Stamping With Friends May Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing Pocket Cards. Our wonderful Design Team will be showcasing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and try this fun card style to create your own beautiful designs.
For my Pocket Card design, I chose to use the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to create a beautiful Mother's Day card. I paired it with the sentiment from the Stippled Roses stamp set and heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder to give it a touch of elegance. This style of Pocket Card was inspired by a similar card created by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Karen Titus. Instead of leaving the sides open, I chose to adhere them shut using Tear & Tape Adhesive. This style of card is great for adding a gift card inside for a special occasion. It is simple to create and so much fun to decorate.

I was so happy when Stampin' Up! decided to carry over the beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper and I thought it would be perfect for this card design. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple with a touch of elegance. The coordinating patterns made it easy to mix and match to create the contrast with the front panel, the flap and the insert so that everything tied together. I added some foliage die cut with the Painted Lavender Dies and a touch of bling with the Brushed Brass Butterflies. The Natural Polka Dot Ribbon adds some wonderful texture to the design without being too bulky. For the pull top on the insert, I attached the small Gorgeous Grape circles on either side of the insert to make it easy to move the layer in and out of the pocket.
