We Create March Blog Hop March To A Different Beat

Welcome to the We Create March Blog Hop and our theme this month is "March To A Different Beat". As we begin this new month, we are already starting to think about Spring and all the wonderful things that come with that season. It's a time for new beginnings as we get ready to shake off the Winter Blues and enjoy the warmer weather. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing what this month's theme means to them to help inspire you to get creative this month.
When I think of the month of March, I think about the beginning of Spring and here in Colorado we have already started to see the early signs with warm sunny days mixed in with the occasional snow storm, both very common during this season. Then I started to think along the lines of the word beat, and it made me think of wings, which led me to butterflies which will soon start to return. So I decided to create a pretty Spring themed card design using the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack and coordinating Cards & Envelopes, with butterflies being a key part of the design. I love that this was a simple card to create and required just a few supplies to make a beautiful design.
Products Used:
Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack (item #162930)
Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes (item #162931)
Petal Pink Cardstock (item #146985)
Baker's Twine Three Color Pack (item #162759)
Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots (item #162758)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Cards and Envelopes
1 Calypso Coral Card Base and coordinating Envelope
Sweet Thoughts Memories & More Card Pack
Dream Big Card - 3"x4"
Assorted Flowers Stickers
Petal Pink Cardstock
Matte Layer - 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
This fun no-stamping card, is a great way to create a pretty design by just mixing and matching different elements to come up with the finished card. Once I had chosen the card I wanted to use for the focal image, I added a piece of Petal Pink cardstock to create a matte layer to help it pop against the Calypso Coral card base. I added some Lemon Lolly Baker's Twine around the bottom of the layer, wrapping it around twice and then tying a bow on the left side. I added several Petal Pink Dots to the focal card to coordinate with the matte layer and then attached the layer to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. To step the design up even further, I added several of the flower stickers to the top left and bottom right corners of the card front, tucking them slightly under the raised focal layer. To complete the design, I added a little more bling to the centers of the small flowers using Basic Rhinestone Jewels. I love how fresh and pretty this card is and how simple it was to create.

  1. I love how you used the little rhinestones in the centers of the little flowers, and then you used some of the rainbow dots on the card, too! Very cute card, thanks for sharing :-D
