Welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for May 2019 as we share wonderful project ideas with the theme of Encouragement. It is amazing the difference that an encouraging word can make and even more so when received in the form of a hand made card.
My card design was inspired by my daughters, Kaity and Ally. They are both going through very stressful times as they finish up school. Kaity is a Sophomore at college and is busy with finals and presentations. Ally is a Senior in high school and is in her final days. Both of them are facing stressful situations and have faced difficult challenges over the past few months. When I designed this card, I wanted it to be a way to show them how proud I am of them and how much I believe in them.
I chose to use Tranquil Tide cardstock for my card base as it provides a beautiful frame for the piece of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #146926). I love the floral design of this paper and the soft shimmer of the flowers. I chose to use Copper Foil to die cut the dragonflies using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets Dies (item #142749) and snipped them into two pieces.
I stamped the sentiment from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set (item #148732) from the 2019 Occasions Catalog with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Copper embossing powder to coordinate with the dragonflies. I punched out the sentiment using the 2 1/4" Circle Punch (item #143720) and attached it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then attached the dragonflies above and below the circle using Snail Adhesive. I love the way the Copper Foil stands out against the designer series paper to create a beautiful clean and simple card design that shares the love I have for my wonderful daughters.
