Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 32 - Smoky Slate

Welcome to Week 32 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. This week we are showcasing Smoky Slate from the Neutrals Collection. This beautiful soft gray is so versatile and I can't wait to share what I created with it this week.

For my card design, I chose to create a clean and simple masculine card using the new Greatest Adventure stamp set from the Online Exclusives. I love the detailed train image in this stamp set and I thought it would look beautiful using Smoky Slate Classic ink. I chose to use Basic Black cardstock for my card base and sentiment label to help the Smoky Slate pop and add dimension to the design. To add texture to the background, I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder on the Smoky Slate cardstock layer and I chose the Deckled Rectangles Dies to create the layers for a vintage look.

This beautiful masculine card showcases how Smoky Slate can be used to create a wonderful clean and simple design. I love that the train image from the Greatest Adventure stamp set has so much detail and shading to help bring it to life with the Smoky Slate Classic ink. I wanted to give the design a vintage feeling so I chose to use the Deckled Rectangles Dies to create the layers for this card. The Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder adds the look and feel of wrinkled paper to the Smoky Slate cardstock layer which adds to the vintage feel of this card. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto the Basic Black cardstock strip and added two of the Smoky Slate Pearls to complete the card design. I love how this design turned out and how beautiful Smoky Slate looks with Basic Black and Basic White.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 24 - Early Espresso

It's Week 24 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and this week we are showcasing Early Espresso from the Neutrals Collection. I love this wonderfully rich dark brown and I am so excited to share with you the card design I came up with for this week's challenge.

My card this week is a fun masculine design featuring the Adventurous Sky Bundle. I wanted to create a worn, vintage look to this design and I used the Watercolor World background stamp to create my background and added some texture with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I used Early Espresso Classic ink to create the different layers of color that help to showcase the versatility of this wonderful color. This card design would be great for a Father's Day card, masculine birthday or graduation card.

To create this beautiful card, I chose to use the Watercolor World stamp set for my background and I stamped the image with Early Espresso Classic ink onto the Very Vanilla cardstock card front. I then embossed the layer with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to give the layer the look of wrinkled parchment paper and then added some Early Espresso ink around the edges and over the raised lines using a Sponge Dauber to give the background a distressed look. For the plane image, I stamped it with Early Espresso Classic ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then used a Blender Pen to color the image using the ink from the stamped image to add soft color. I also stamped the sentiment onto the Very Vanilla sentiment label using Early Espresso Classic ink. To assemble to card, I added the Early Espresso Deckled Circle to the card front and the layered the plane and sentiment onto using Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card, I added several of the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins for a touch of bling without being overwhelming. I love how Early Espresso works with Very Vanilla, especially when you are looking to create a project with a vintage feel to it.

Stamping Inkspirations April Blog Hop Fun Fold Time

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations April Blog Hop and this month we have been challenged to create a fun fold but the twist is that it has to be one we have not tried before. It's a great way to have us step outside our comfort zone and share with you some fun projects to help inspire you.

My inspiration for my fun fold design today came from fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Brenda Quintana, with a version of a Bridge card design that I had not tried before. You can see here video here for more details. I tweaked the placement of the "bridge" layer on my card to fit with the design I had in mind. I chose to use the Lighter Than Air 6"x6" Designer Series Paper for my design and used the coordinating Hot Air Balloon to create the focal images and accents. I wanted to create a fun, cheerful birthday card that would help brighten someone's day. With these pretty pastel colors, I think I managed to achieve that. What do you think?

I love creating clean and simple card designs and this applies to fun fold cards as well. As soon as I saw this layout, I knew I had to try it. I love that all the main pieces for the card come from one 4 1/4" x 11" card base and with just 2 cuts and a score line, you have the basics for your fun fold. The fun part is decorating and I felt like the Hot Air Balloon Bundle would be perfect with the coordinating Lighter Than Air 6"x6" Designer Series Paper for creating my card. I chose to place my bridge layer closer to the bottom of the card front to allow room for the balloon die cut to fit in and also to add some clouds in the background. I used the Hot Air Balloon Dies to cut out all the different pieces, including the sentiment banners. I love the contrast between the striped pattern for the side panels and the Azure Afternoon background design. It made me think of rainbows and a blue sky and I thought it was perfect for the idea of a hot air balloon floating through by. For the focal layer, I embossed the Azure Afternoon cardstock with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture to the card. I love the contrast with all the pretty colors and the Basic White card base helps make them pop. I used Gorgeous Grape Classic ink to stamp the sentiments for both the front and inside panels. This was such a fun card to create and I can see myself making more of these Bridge Fun Fold cards in the future.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 9 Tahitian Tide

Happy Friday everyone. We are starting off the month of March with the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and for Week 9 we are creating with the beautiful Tahitian Tide. This pretty blue lives up to its name with a wonderful tropical feeling to it that has me thinking of holidaying on a tropical island with white sandy beaches and clear blue waters. I guess you could say that this is what influenced me for today's card design.

When I started thinking about swimming in the ocean, I thought about what I might find as I explore and it brought to mind sea turtles and how they glide effortlessly through the water. So, I decided to use the Sea Turtle stamp set from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog to create my card design, showcasing the wonderful shades of this color using Generational stamping and blending to create this pretty background. I added some texture to the background using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I love how Silver embossing looks with blue, so I chose to heat emboss the turtle image and sentiment onto Vellum cardstock to create the focal design.

Focal Layer die cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies

This card is a fun combination of techniques to help you step your design up to the next level. I love how the Silver embossing on the Vellum cardstock pops against the Tahitian Tide tone on tone stamped background. To create the different layers of color for the background, I started by gently blending Tahitian Tide Classic ink onto the Basic White card front to create a soft blue all over background. I then stamped the bubbles image several times around the edges to add some texture and deeper color. For the fish, I stamped off once and then stamped the image onto the cardstock to create a lighter color that gives the impression that the fish are further back to add some depth to the design. To add some additional texture, I embossed the background layer with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and I like how it gives the appearance of waves in the water. I added the Vellum cardstock to the card front with adhesive behind the embossed turtle so that it doesn't show up. To finish off the design, I added several Tahitian Tide Pearls for a touch of bling. Isn't it so pretty? I love how this card design showcases how beautiful Tahitian Tide looks. Stamping With Friends February Hot Air Balloon Birthday

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends February Blog Hop as we celebrate birthdays. For my birthday card today, I decided to showcase the Hot Air Balloon Bundle to show it's versatility. I paired it with the coordinating Lighter Than Air 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to create the balloon and used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture for the background layer. I love how bright and cheerful this card design looks and it is sure to help brighten someone's special day.

For my card design, I wanted to create a stepped up clean and simple birthday card. I love that the Hot Air Balloon Bundle had what I needed to create a fun design and I chose to use one of the designs from the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper to create the pattern for the balloon. The sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon stamp set fits perfectly on the coordinating die and made it easy to layer with the banner die. For the background, I chose to use the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the Tahitian Tide cardstock layer that I die cut out using the Perennial Postage Dies. I added some clouds to create the look of the sky and I love the contrast between the white clouds and the Tahitian Tide background. The banner label and basket for the balloon were die cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and I added a Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine bow and some Basic Rhinestones to finish off the design. Isn't this card so cute and fun? I think it would look great in a wide variety of colors so that you could personalize it to suit the person you are giving it to. Why not give it a try.
