Around The World On Wednesday September Blog Hop It's A Wonderful Day In The Neighborhood

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday September Blog Hop as we explore our favorite places in the world around us. Whether it is a special place in our local neighborhood or a favorite place we have visited, we will be sharing projects and ideas to reflect our connections with these locations.
It's so hard to pick just one favorite from all the places I have visited, so in the end I decided to focus on one of my favorite places in the state of Colorado - the Rocky Mountains. There is something so peaceful and soothing about the mountains, no matter the season. For my card design, I created the look of the mountains as they are now, getting ready to change from Summer to Fall. For my design, I chose to use Mountain Air and Grassy Grove stamp sets and I added some texture with the new Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. Do you love the leaf label? It is a new product in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog and is perfect for the changing seasons. This card design would work well for a variety of occasions and would make a beautiful masculine card design.

Very Vanilla Cardstock
Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4"
This beautiful scenic card design was created by layering stamp images from the Mountain Air stamp set for the mountains and the Grassy Grove stamp set for the trees and foreground foliage. The combination of greens and browns add depth and dimension to the design to create a late Summer/ early Fall landscape that reminds me of the Rocky Mountains. For the sentiment, I used one of the Leaf Labels and heat embossed the sentiment with Copper embossing powder. I also used several of the amber gems to embellish it and add a warm glow to the card design. The background layer was embossed with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder after stamping to add texture to the card. The Linen Thread on the left side of the card front completes the design and adds a rustic feel to it.

Colour Combo January Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo January Blog Hop as we get ready for our first Colour Challenge of 2022. This month we have been challenged to create a project using Cinnamon Cider, Evening Evergreen and Early Espresso. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they showcase their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
When I first saw this color combination, it made think of a nature theme and I thought it would be perfect for a masculine card design. I chose to use the new Grassy Grove stamp set from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog and focused mainly on stamps, paper and ink. The only die cutting I did was for the sentiment label and I chose to use one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies to create it. I love this clean and simple look and the natural feel of this design.
Products Used:
Grassy Grove stamp set (item #157836)
Tailor Made Tags Dies (item #155563)
Early Espresso Cardstock (item #119686)
Cinnamon Cider Cardstock (item #153078)
Very Vanilla Cardstock (item #101650)
Evening Evergreen Classic Ink Pad (item #155576)
Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (item #147114)
Cinnamon Cider Classic Ink Pad (item #153114)
Linen Thread (item #104199)
Stampin Dimensionals (item #104430)
Blender Pens (item #102845)
Measurements:
Early Espresso Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Tab for the sentiment tag die cut with Tailor Made Tags Dies
Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Sentiment Tag die cut with Tailor Made Tags Dies
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4"
This clean and simple card is all about the stamping. I love the background images in the Grassy Grove stamp set and how easy it is to layer them to create depth and dimension to a design. I stamped the large background image several times across the center of the card front with Evening Evergreen Classic ink, both full strength and second generation stamping. I repeated the process with the smaller grass image using Early Espresso Classic ink, stamping slightly lower to create a new layer of foliage to the background. Using Cinnamon Cider Classic ink, I stamped the deer image towards the bottom left corner of the Very Vanilla layer and then I stamped the smaller grass image repeated (after stamping off several times) with Evening Evergreen Classic ink to create the look of a grassy meadow. I used a Blender Pen to blend the ink around the deer and soften the stamped images. To complete the card design, I create a sentiment tag with the Tailor Made Tags dies from Cinnamon Cider cardstock and added a small decorative tab around the opening, die cut from Early Espresson cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso Classic ink and added a piece of Linen Thread to the tag, before attaching it to the top of the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. This card design is a great example of how you can create layers of color using Generational Stamping to add texture and depth to your design.
