GSF May Blog Hop Flowers and Leaves

Welcome to the GSF May Blog Hop as we create projects with the theme of flowers and leaves. With Spring in full bloom, it seems like the perfect time to share ideas to help inspire you with your own projects. I hope that our creations will help spark your creativity.

Today I thought I would create a card that would be great for a variety of occasions and would also be perfect as a masculine card. I decided to focus on the Leaves part of this month's theme and used products from the Nature's Poem Suite of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. I love that Stampin' Up!'s Suites provide us with a wide variety of products to help us create our projects without having to stress about what works best together. My card design was inspired by a card created by fellow demonstrator, Georgia Giguere and I just loved the peaceful feeling of her design.

I chose to use Shaded Spruce cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed using the Woodland Embossing Folder (item #139673). I gently sponged the embossed areas with Crumb Cake Classic ink using a Sponge Dauber to add dimension to the background.
I stamped the tree image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set (item #146482) using Shaded Spruce Classic ink for the tree top and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker for the tree trunk.

To create the stamped panel, I took a strip of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the tree trunk image with Soft Suede Classic ink and the sentiment with Shaded Spruce Classic ink. I added a strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock to the top of the panel and a strip of designer series paper from the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper pack (item #146338) to the bottom of the panel.
I attached the panel to the card front and then added the stamped tree image with Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the card, I used a small deer die cut with the Detailed Deer Dies (item #147915) from Copper Foil. I attached it to the panel with Snail Adhesive at the base of the tree.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design helps inspire you to create your own projects using the products from the Nature's Poem Suite in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Being able to create with products that coordinate takes the stress out of being creative and makes it a lot more fun too. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.

Merry Christmas To All Non Traditional Christmas Card

As we countdown the final days until Christmas, I thought I would share with you one of the Christmas cards I created this year. For this card design, I went with a non traditional color combination of Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I love how the Silver foil embellishments look with these colors for a winter wonderland feel. The embellishments were die cut using the Detailed Deer Thinlets dies (item #147915) and they coordinate beautifully with the Silver embossed sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set (item #147702) onto a Whisper White cardstock oval. The Basic Rhinestones add a little bling and sparkle to the design.

The Coastal Cabana cardstock layer has been embossed using the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #147923) and I brushed the raised surface with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (item #147044) using a Sponge Dauber to add a touch of shimmer to the card.

The finishing touch to this card design are the Bermuda Bay leaves decorating the oval. They were created using the Sprig Punch (item #148012) and add a nice contrast to the Coastal Cabana layer and the Silver foil accents.

This clean and simple card design is a wonderful example of how you can create a beautiful Christmas card using non traditional colors. I hope that this card design inspires you to experiment with different color combinations when you create your next project. All of these amazing products can be found in the 2018 Holiday Catalog, which is available until January 3rd, 2019.

Until Next Time.

GSF September Blog Hop Color Challenge: Call Me Clover

It's time to hop with the GSF (aka Global Stamping Friends) September Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged to use the new In Color, Call Me Clover, to create our projects. You may have just visited Amber's blog or perhaps you are starting with me. I hope that our creations will inspire you to give Call Me Clover a try in your creative projects.

Call Me Clover is a beautiful, vibrant green and when I first saw it, I new it would be a perfect Christmas green. So when we were given this challenge, I knew that I wanted to create a Christmas card featuring this wonderful shade of green. As you can see in the image above, I used Call Me Clover cardstock, Classic Ink pad, 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and the Call Me Clover Dark Stampin' Blends Marker to create my design. I just love that Stampin' Up! provides us with such a wide variety of products that coordinate to make our life easier.

To create my card, I chose the new Dashing Deer Bundle from the New 2018 Holiday Catalog, to create a clean and simple Christmas card design. I wanted something that could easily be mass produced but have a classically elegant look. (Note: When your purchase the stamp set and thinlets dies together as a bundle, you save 10%).

The card base and cardstock elements have been created with Call Me Clover cardstock. I added a layer of Thick Whisper White cardstock and embossed it with the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #147923). The deer has been die cut from Gold Foil using one of the dies from the Detailed Deer Thinlets dies (item #147915) and attached to the Call Me Clover oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Dashing Deer stamp set was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder and die cut with one of the dies from the Merry Christmas Thinlets dies (item #147912), which is also available in the new Holiday Catalog. I attached the sentiment with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, placing it over the 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

To add a touch of bling, I used the Call Me Clover Dark Stampin' Blends Marker to color three of the small Basic Rhinestones and attached them to the card front.

The great thing about the Dashing Deer stamp set is that it has sentiments suitable for both the front and inside of your card. I heat embossed one of these sentiments onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Gold embossing powder and then used Call Me Clover Classic ink to stamp the garland to embellish the top and bottom of the cardstock.

I just love the way that this card came together and contrast between the Whisper White with the Call Me Clover with the Gold accents adding a classic elegance.  I think that this card design demonstrates that you don't need a lot of colors or supplies to create a beautiful card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that you enjoyed the card I shared today. Now it's time to visit Anastasia's blog and see what she has created this month.
