GSF May Blog Hop Stitched

It's time to hop along with the Global Stamping Friends (aka GSF) May Blog Hop and our theme this month is "Stitched". Stampin' Up! has so many wonderful products that give the look of stitching and I can't wait to share my card design with you.
For my "Stitched" card design, I chose to use the retiring Bonanza Buddies Bundle (item #153815) from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog combined with the Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #148551) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. I am sad to say goodbye to all the wonderful products in the Birthday Bonanza Suite (item #153929) that are also retiring, so my card design is a chance to put them in the spotlight one more time before they go.
For my card base, I chose to use the retiring Grapefruit Grove cardstock and I added a layer of the retiring Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (item #151313) to create this fun, cheerful background. I love the vibrant colors in this designer series paper and I used several of them in my card design.
To create the focal image, I die cut a tag using the tag die from the Bonanza Dies from the Bonanza Buddies Bundle. I love this set of dies because it makes creating with this bundle so easy. I also used the dies to die cut the Koala stamped image, the party balloons and the party hat.
To create the Koala, I stamped the image with Gray Granite Classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock and stamped the face image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the die cut it out. For the party hat, I die cut the shape from a scrap of Grapefruit Grove Designer Series Paper from the 2018-2020 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack and embellished it with on of the Bermuda Bay Pom Poms from the Assorted Pom Poms (item #151310). To create the presents, I stamped the images using Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana Classic inks and fussy cut them out. I attached them to the bottom of the tag with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the strings for the balloons using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the tag background and then added the Koala image to the tag with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, lining it up with the strings and making sure it stood on top of the presents. I die cut the balloons from scraps of Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove cardstock add attached them to the tag on top of the strings. Using a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Ruched Ribbon (item #151311) I added it to the top of the tag through the hole a the top and tied a knot. I attached the tag to the left side of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
To complete the card design, I created the sentiment by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cutting it with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I attached the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, slightly overlapping it with the tag. To embellish the card, I colored Basic Pearls with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blend Marker and added them to the sentiment label. I love the detail that the stitched lines add to this fun birthday card and Stampin' Up! has a wonderful variety of stitched dies to help you create this detail on your projects.

Colour Combo January Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo January Blog Hop as we start a New Year with a fun new color combination. This month we have been challenged to create a project using Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their creations to help inspire you.
For this color combination, I chose to use the new Bonanza Buddies Bundle (item #153815) from the Birthday Bonanza Suite in the January-June Mini Catalog. I love the cute animals images in this bundle and thought it would make a fun birthday card.
To create this card, I started with a Pear Pizzazz cardstock card base and I added a layer of Basic Gray cardstock that I embossed with the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder (item #151503) from the Tropical Oasis Suite on page 39 of the new catalog. I added a 2" x5" piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper from the Regals 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack (item #149616) to the right side of the embossed Basic Gray cardstock to add a splash of color.
The focal image was created by stamping the koala image onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Basic Gray Classic ink for the body and Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the face details. I die cut the image using the coordinating die and attached it to a Whisper White cardstock circle that I die cut using the Layering Circles Dies (item #141705). I layered this circle onto a scalloped circle die cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock to frame it. To decorate the card, I added a party hat die cut with a die from the Bonanza Dies (item #151566) and added a White Pompom from the Assorted Pompoms (item #151310). The balloons were die cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock and Silver Foil and I used Linen Thread to create the strings for the balloons.
I created the sentiment label by stamping the sentiment with Pumpkin Pie Classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and added another label punched from Pear Pizzazz cardstock that I cut in half and layered behind the Whisper White layer. I then attached the sentiment to a Silver Foil label punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added the Silver Foil label to the card front with Snail Adhesive.
This fun card design could be created in a variety of color combinations to suit the occasion and would work for a variety of ages.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will inspire you to experiment with these colors and see what you projects you can create.
