Stamping With Friends Being Thankful Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Being Thankful Blog Hop as we showcase projects to show our appreciation to the people in our lives. We have so much to be thankful for and our wonderful Design Team Members will be sharing their ideas and projects to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects.
My card design today has a Fall feel to it which I think is appropriate, because we often focus on what we are thankful for at this time of the year. I chose to use the Cottage Wreaths Bundle for my design and I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the background. The colors I chose have that warm, earthy feeling and I love how they blend together to create this beautiful card design. My inspiration was a card that was created by Shannon West during Stampin' Up!'s recent World Card Making Day Virtual Cardmaking Event. If you haven't had a chance to watch this event, click here and click on the Video On Demand button to watch. This event features three card designs plus special Sneak Peeks of upcoming new products that you won't want to miss. The Resource Tab has all the measurements and instructions to help you create your own cards.

This beautiful clean and simple card design has a wonderful warm feel to it and I love how the Crumb Cake cardstock makes the Pale Papaya and Very Vanilla layers pop. I wanted my wreath to be more muted, so I stamped the leaf layer with Crumb Cake Classic ink and then stamped the branches image over the tip with Early Espresso Classic ink. The acorns were stamped on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Cajun Craze Classic ink and die cut with the coordinating die. The bow was die cut from a scrap of Pale Papaya cardstock and I attached it to the lower right corner of the wreath and then added the acorns around the weath so that they were evenly spaced. I embossed the Pale Papaya cardstock with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to add some embossed leaves to the background which adds wonderful texture. I attached the focal squares to the center of the card front and then attached the wreath with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the center of the Very Vanilla square. For the sentiment, I stamped the image onto the Very Vanilla tag with Early Espresso ink and then layered it on top of the Crumb Cake tag. I added a Mini Stampin' Dimensional between the two tags to hold them in place and then added a piece of the Gold Satin Edged Ribbon through the holes in the tags and tied a bow around the base of the ribbon with Linen Thread. I adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the card front, centering it underneath the focal square design.
