Stamping Inkspirations August Blog Hop Blending Technique Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations August Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing Blending Techniques. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore these wonderful techniques to create your own unique projects.
For my blending technique, I thought I would share a fun and simple way to use your Stampin' Blends Markers to create an ombre style background. Using Pool Party and Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends Markers, I started with the light Pool Party at the top of the Basic White cardstock layer and colored to the center of the cardstock. I then colored the second half of the Basic White cardstock with Light Fresh Freesia down towards the bottom of the layer. To create the ombre look, I added some Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends to the bottom half of the Light Pool Party and the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends to the top half of the Fresh Freesia. To blend the colors and remove any harsh lines, I used Light Pool Party to gently color over the join for the light and dark Pool Party and the same with the Light Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends Marker to blend the line between the light and dark Fresh Freesia. This technique can be used with any color combination and is a wonderful way to create a pretty background quickly.

This pretty card design is a CASE of a card I created at a recent Stampin' Up! event and I thought I would change up a few elements to give it a fresh new look. I die cut two of the detailed leaves from the center of the Fresh Freesia Foil designer series paper using the Splendid Stems Dies. This is a great way to conserve your pretty paper. I layered the designer series paper panel onto the Soft Sea Foam card base at an angle. For the ombre background layer, I stamped the leaves image with Pool Party Classic ink over the Pool Party section and then stamped the same image with Fresh Freesia Classic ink over the Fresh Freesia section, to create a beautiful tone on tone design. I heat embossed the sentiment with Silver embossing powder onto the banner label and attached a piece of the Soft Sea Foam Ribbon, folder in half, to the back of the label and attached the detailed Fresh Freesia Foil Die Cuts with Mini Glue Dots to the back of the label. I then added the sentiment label to the focal layer with Stampin' Dimensionals over the join between the Fresh Freesia and Pool Party colored sections. I then added the focal layer to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals so that it was centered over the Fresh Freesia Foil layer. To complete the card design, I added several Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a touch of bling. This soft and pretty card design would work well for a variety of occasions throughout the year.
