Paper Pumpkin Possibilities August Blog Hop Sweet Sunflowers

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities August Blog Hop as we showcase alternative projects created with the beautiful Sweet Sunflowers Kit. Our talented Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help you think outside of the box to create your own wonderful projects.
This beautiful kit is hands down, one of my favorites and if you were lucky enough to get one of these kits, I am sure you would agree. For my alternative card design, I chose to use the exclusive stamp set to show how can continue to create beautiful projects, long after you have used up the other supplies in your kit. For the color combination, I chose to use the Crushed Curry and Soft Suede ink spots that were included in the kit and added Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Classic ink pads for the leaves to complete the design. This beautiful card is a wonderful way to transition from Summer to Fall and would work well for a variety of occasions.

This clean and simple card design is all about the beautiful stamp images. I was able to get the detail from the line images and I used the reverse side of the sunflower and the leaf to create the color of the background. I stamped both of the sunflowers with Crushed Curry Classic ink, in opposite corners, by first stamping once and the reinking and stamping again by rotating the stamp image approx 90 degrees. I then stamped the center of the sunflower using Soft Suede ink in the centers of the flowers. Next, I cleaned and flipped the sunflower stamp so that the back side was facing up. I inked it up with Crushed Curry Classic ink and stamped off once on a scrap piece of paper before lining it up and stamping over the sunflower stamped images. This creates that beautiful soft yellow background that gives the petals their wonderful color. For the leaves, I stamped the leaf image with Mossy Meadow Classic ink and then cleaned the stamp and flipped it over. I inked the back side of the stamp with Old Olive Classic ink and once again stamped off once on a scrap piece of paper before stamping over the leaves on the card front. I added the foliage image with Mossy Meadow Classic ink and the bees with Soft Suede Classic ink to complete the background design.
For the sentiment label, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder. I wrapped a piece of the Gold Elegant Trim around the center of the card front twice and tied a simple bow towards the left side. I added Stampin' Dimensionals (from the kit) to the back of the sentiment label and then fed the bow and the ends of the trim through the hole on the tag so that they appear on the front. I attached the tag to the front of the card over the trim. To complete the design, I added several Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels for a touch of bling.
