New At SU February Blog Hop Sale-a-bration

It's time to hop along with the New At SU February Blog Hop as we showcase the amazing products in the 2021 Sale-a-bration Catalog.  You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their beautiful projects to help inspire you.
Sentiment stamp sets are often overlooked but to me they are one of the staples of collection. The Approaching Perfection stamp set (item #155282) has wonderful birthday sentiments that provide a little humor, especially as we get a little older. I love that these sentiments work for both masculine and feminine cards and I decided to create a masculine birthday card using this stamp set with the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper (item #155222). Both of these products are Level 1 Sale-a-bration Rewards that can be earned for free with a qualifying order, but only during Sale-a-bration. I hope that my card design will help you to see both of these products in a new way and showcase how versatile they really are.

At first glance, the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper seems more suited to feminine cards but if you take a look at the patterns on some of the papers, you will be surprised to find they work very well for masculine designs. The pattern I chose has a geometric almost abstract feel to it and I love the combination of blue tones. I chose to use Night Of Navy cardstock for the card base as well as for the sentiment label and accent strips. The Silver embossing really pops against the dark blue background and I love the humor in the sentiment from the Approaching Perfection stamp set. The Silver Foil buttons have wonderful detail and make a beautiful accent to the card design without being to sparkly. The stitched detail on the sentiment label ties in well with the stitched details of the strips that I used to decorate the card front. For the inside of the card design, I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy Classic ink onto the Basic White cardstock layer and I stamped the candles image along the bottom using Seaside Spray and Night of Navy Classic inks, alternating them to create a pattern. To finish off the design, I stamped the bow tie image from the Handsomely Suited stamp set with Night of Navy, just about the Happy Birthday sentiment. This clean and simple card makes a wonderful masculine birthday card, especially if you have forgotten someone's special day.
This card design is a great layout for a variety of occasions and you can transform the look of the card by using any of the other beautiful designs in the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper pack and swapping the sentiment for something that suits the occasion.

  6. Wow, yes, that is a great idea! This paper is indeed great for masculin cards too. We should look a bit further then just the flowery patterns! And those sentiments are indeed great, especially for people of my age, haha! A little fun is always nice isn't it? Thanks for the inspiration!
