Around The World On Wednesday February Blog Hop You've Got Mail

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday February Blog Hop with our theme this month "You've Got Mail" as we focus on "All About The Inside". You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
For my card design, I chose to create a Double Flap Gate Fold card using the Darling Donkeys stamp set (item #155264) and the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper (item #155225), which are both Level 1 Rewards in the 2021 Sale-a-bration Catalog. I love how pretty this Bermuda Bay paper is and the donkeys are so cute. The accessories in the Kangaroo & Company Bundle (item #156269) from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog work beautifully with the Darling Donkeys to help step up the card design. As you open this card, you will find two inside layers that celebrate the recipient's birthday.

This card design may look complicated but it is actually quite simple to create. For the card base, you score at 2 1/8" from each end and score with a bone folder so they fold towards the middle. To decorate, I attached the designer series paper pieces to either side of the "gate" fold. I adhered the Bermuda Bay cardstock layer inside the card in the center. For the inside center panel, I stamped the donkey image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers. I stamped the sentiment with the same ink and then attached the layer to the center of the card on top of the Bermuda Bay cardstock layer. To create the flaps for the front and the middle layers, I stamped the donkeys onto scrap Basic White cardstock and the sentiments onto the circles. I stamped the small stars image with Coastal Cabana Classic ink around the sentiment to decorate. Using Stampin' Blends Markers, I colored the donkeys and fussy cut them out. I attached them to the circles with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and then attached the white circles to the Bermuda Bay scalloped circle die cuts.  For the accessories, I stamped them onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and colored them with Stampin' Blends Markers before die cutting them with the coordinating dies using the Kangaroo & Company Bundle.
To assemble the card, I added Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to one half of the back of the Bermuda Bay scalloped circle to attach to the left side flap of the gate fold card. For the other scalloped circle, I attached it to the left side with adhesive, repeating the process but on the opposite half of the circle and making sure that it lines up behind the front circle. I added the hearts to the front of the card so that it overlaps the front circle, using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. This helps create a "latch" to keep the card closed. To decorate the donkey on the inside of the card, I added the party hat and gifts with adhesive. For a touch of bling, I added Basic Rhinestones to the front panels to finish off the design. I love that this card design provides a 'surprise" on the inside for the person receiving the card.
