PPP March Blog Hop No Matter The Weather

Welcome to the PPP March Blog Hop as we showcase alternative project ideas using the No Matter The Weather Paper Pumpkin kit. This beautiful kit seems appropriate as we face new challenges in the world and a time when it's important to reach out to each other.
For my alternative card design, I chose to create a variation of one of the card designs included in the kit. I converted the note card into a full size card by cutting the note card in half along the fold line to 3 1/2" x 5". For the card base, I chose to use Balmy Blue cardstock and I added a layer of 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White cardstock to create a layer behind the note card layer.
To create the focal image, I used the boots and floral die cut images for this card design as well as the stitched circle die cut for the sentiment. To create the umbrella, I stamped the top of the umbrella image from the Under My Umbrella stamp set (item #151518) with Petal Pink Classic ink onto Petal Pink cardstock and the handle image was stamped with Basic Gray Classic ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I punched out the stamped images using the Umbrella Builder Punch (item #151293) and attached the handle to the middle of the umbrella with Snail Adhesive. I stamped the sentiment with Balmy Blue Classic ink onto the die cut stitched circle and stamped the medium and small hearts with Petal Pink Classic ink to decorate.
For the card background, I lightly sponged the light areas with So Saffron Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to give the look of sunshine peeking through the clouds. Using Basic Gray Classic ink, I stamped the rain drops image randomly in the background. I attached the boots die cut to the grass area on the card front with Snail Adhesive and then added the floral die cut with Stampin' Dimensionals on top of the boot. I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the top of the umbrella and slid the handle underneath the floral die cut to hide part of it, pressing down on the top of the umbrella to adhere it to the card front. For the sentiment, I adhered it to the card front with Snail Adhesive, sliding it under the umbrella and floral die cut to create dimension. To finish off the card design, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves on the die cut for a touch of shimmer.
I love how this alternative card design turned out and how simple it was to convert the note card into a full size card. The Under My Umbrella Bundle (item #153786) coordinates beautifully with this kit and provides a variety of options with the images and sentiments.
