Ink. Stamp. Share October Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share October Blog Hop as we share our project ideas with this month's Colour Challenge. We have been challenged to create a project using three of the following colors: Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, Petal Pink, Mint Macaron and Purple Posy. We may also use Whisper White or Very Vanilla in our designs. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas to inspire you. I hope that you enjoy our blog hop this month.
For this color challenge, I chose to use Petal Pink, Mint Macaron and Purple Posy to create a non-traditional Christmas card. I chose to use the #Elfie stamp set (item #150509) from the 2019 Holiday Catalog and combined it with the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder (item #150645) to add texture to the background.
To create my card design, I used Mint Macaron cardstock to create my card base. I added a layer of Purple Posy cardstock that I embossed using the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder. Using a Sponge Dauber, I gently rubbed Purple Posy Classic ink over the raised areas of the embossing to enhance the detail.
The focal image was created by stamping the elf image onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image using Purple Posy Light and Dark, Mint Macaron Light and Dark and Petal Pink Light and Dark Stampin' Blends Markers. I used the Color Lifter Stampin' Blend Marker to lighten the coloring on the face.
Using the Layering Ovals Dies (item #141706), I die cut the image and then die cut a larger oval from Purple Posy cardstock and a larger scalloped oval die cut from Mint Macaron cardstock. I attached the layers using Snail Adhesive. I colored a piece of the Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon (item #144146) using the Light Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends Marker and attached it to the card front with Snail Adhesive. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the focal image over the ribbon onto the card front.
To complete the card design, I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing powder. I then punched out the sentiment using the Classic Label Punch (item #141491). To create the matte for the sentiment, I punched out another label from Mint Macaron cardstock and cut it in half. I then attached each piece to the back of the sentiment and attached the sentiment to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the sentiment, I colored two of the small Basic Pearls using the Dark Purple Posy Stampin' Blends Marker and attached them to the label.
This sweet card is a fun, non-traditional twist for a Christmas card design and could also be used as a Baby's First Christmas card or to celebrate the arrival of a new baby during the holidays. There are so many wonderful images and sentiments in this stamp set to provide you with a variety of options for the holidays.
