Colour Combo November Blog Hop

It's time for the November Colour Combo Blog Hop and this month we have been challenged to use Crumb Cake, Basic Gray and Soft Suede to create our project. You may have just visited Anastasia's blog or perhaps you are getting started here with me. I hope that you will enjoy the projects we have to share with you today.

For my card today, I decided to use the Winter Woods stamp set from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. This is a beautiful stamp set with detailed images and I thought it would be fun to show how you can create a masculine birthday card with this stamp set.

The color combination this month seemed perfect for a masculine card. I used Basic Gray cardstock to create the card base and added a layer of Crumb Cake that I embossed using the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I just love the texture this added to the card design and I lightly sponged the edges and raised sections of the cardstock with Crumb Cake Classic ink using a Sponge Dauber.
For the focal design, I stamped the detailed trees image with Versamark ink onto Soft Suede cardstock and heat embossed it with Silver embossing powder. I then sponged the edges of the cardstock with Crumb Cake Classic ink and burnished the trees to make them pop. I sponged Soft Suede Classic ink along the bottom of the cardstock to create the ground.

I wrapped a piece of Braided Linen Trim around the Soft Suede cardstock and attached the sentiment which I stamped onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Soft Suede Classic ink and punched out with the Classic Label punch. I layered it onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock that had been die cut using the smallest oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. The sentiment has been attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.

This was a fun card to create and I loved working with this color combination to create this masculine card and the way the Silver embossing popped against these neutral colors. The detailed tree images really look great when they are heat embossed.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to look at holiday stamp sets in a different way and explore the different possibilities they offer for your projects. Now it's time to visit Cheryl's blog and see what she has to share this month. Just click the Next button below to visit her blog. Thank you for taking the time to visit our blog hop today.

Until Next Time.
