GSF September Blog Hop Color Challenge: Call Me Clover

It's time to hop with the GSF (aka Global Stamping Friends) September Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged to use the new In Color, Call Me Clover, to create our projects. You may have just visited Amber's blog or perhaps you are starting with me. I hope that our creations will inspire you to give Call Me Clover a try in your creative projects.

Call Me Clover is a beautiful, vibrant green and when I first saw it, I new it would be a perfect Christmas green. So when we were given this challenge, I knew that I wanted to create a Christmas card featuring this wonderful shade of green. As you can see in the image above, I used Call Me Clover cardstock, Classic Ink pad, 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and the Call Me Clover Dark Stampin' Blends Marker to create my design. I just love that Stampin' Up! provides us with such a wide variety of products that coordinate to make our life easier.

To create my card, I chose the new Dashing Deer Bundle from the New 2018 Holiday Catalog, to create a clean and simple Christmas card design. I wanted something that could easily be mass produced but have a classically elegant look. (Note: When your purchase the stamp set and thinlets dies together as a bundle, you save 10%).

The card base and cardstock elements have been created with Call Me Clover cardstock. I added a layer of Thick Whisper White cardstock and embossed it with the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #147923). The deer has been die cut from Gold Foil using one of the dies from the Detailed Deer Thinlets dies (item #147915) and attached to the Call Me Clover oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Dashing Deer stamp set was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder and die cut with one of the dies from the Merry Christmas Thinlets dies (item #147912), which is also available in the new Holiday Catalog. I attached the sentiment with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, placing it over the 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

To add a touch of bling, I used the Call Me Clover Dark Stampin' Blends Marker to color three of the small Basic Rhinestones and attached them to the card front.

The great thing about the Dashing Deer stamp set is that it has sentiments suitable for both the front and inside of your card. I heat embossed one of these sentiments onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Gold embossing powder and then used Call Me Clover Classic ink to stamp the garland to embellish the top and bottom of the cardstock.

I just love the way that this card came together and contrast between the Whisper White with the Call Me Clover with the Gold accents adding a classic elegance.  I think that this card design demonstrates that you don't need a lot of colors or supplies to create a beautiful card.
