Stamping Inkspirations May Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

It's Sketch Challenge time for the Stamping Inkspirations May Blog Hop and our Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you. Sketches are a wonderful way to spark your creativity, especially if you are experiencing a creative block. Think of it as a road map to guide you as you create your own beautiful projects.
It took me a little time to work out my card design for this month's Sketch Challenge. In the end, I came up with a bit of a twist on the original sketch to create a card that worked for me. I chose to use the Timeless Arrangements Bundle with the Stylish Shapes to create my card and I also used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder to add some texture to the design. This pretty Spring themed Thank You card has a soft and pretty color palette including Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Pool Party and Basic White. This card design features several different techniques including masking, sponging, both dry and heat embossing and a little die cutting. I can honestly say that this card had me stepping outside my comfort zone but I love how it turned out in the end.

4 Leaves die cut with the Timeless Arrangements
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
When you look at this card design, you see that I used quarter circles to create the "corners" for my card design. I chose to cut the large Highland Heather Circle into quarters to create a curved version of the sketch and I love how the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder adds beautiful texture to this design. For the card front, I masked off a strip in the center and gently sponged the area with Fresh Freesia Classic ink using a Blending Brush. While the mask was still in place, I stamped the leaves and flowers from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set onto the sponged background using Fresh Freesia Classic ink. I love the tone on tone design this technique creates. I then stamped the "Thanks" image randomly on the floral background using Highland Heather Classic ink to complete the design, before removing the mask. For the sentiment label, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto the Fresh Freesia Label and added it to the larger Highland Heather Label.
To assemble the card, I attached the four quarter circles to the card front. I added a piece of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon around the center of the card front and added the sentiment label over the top using Stampin' Dimensionals. I added for sprigs of leaves die cut from Pool Party cardstock with the Timeless Arrangements Dies, so that the ends tucked underneath the sentiment label. I also added two small floral sprigs die cut from Highland Heather cardstock. To complete the card design, I attached the card front to the Fresh Freesia card base and added two small Basic Rhinestones to the sentiment label for a touch of bling. This is such a sweet design and I love the combination of textures and layers.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope my card design will help inspire you to give this Sketch Challenge a try. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore using paper, ink and stamps to create your own beautiful card design.

ICS May Blog Hop 2023-2025 In Colors

Welcome to the ICS May Blog Hop as we showcase the new 2023-2025 In Colors. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas featuring these beautiful colors, using products from the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.
The new 2023-2025 Colors are simply amazing and I am having so much fun playing with these colors and experimenting with different color combinations. For today's card design, I chose to use two of the new In Colors - Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path and paired it with Bubble Bath to add a pop of contrast to the design. For this card design, I was inspired by a sample in the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog on page 41, using the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. This bundle is a hidden gem in the new catalog and it is full of wonderful sentiments and coordinating dies that provide so many great options for creating projects.
Products Used:
Wonderful Thoughts Bundle (item #161494)
Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item #156505)
Moody Mauve Cardstock (item #161723)
Pebbled Path Cardstock (item #161722)
Bubble Bath Cardstock (item #161718)
Moody Mauve Classic Ink Pad (item #161649)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
2023-2025 In Color Dots (item #161620)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Pebbled Path Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
5 Labels die cut with the Wonderful Thoughts Dies
Moody Mauve Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" Embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Detailed Floral die cut with the Wonderful Thoughts Dies
Bubble Bath Cardstock
Detailed Floral die cut with the Wonderful Thoughts Dies
For my card design, I chose to use Pebbled Path for my card base and I love the way the Moody Mauve card front pops against this wonderful neutral color. I decided to add some texture to the card front using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and I gently sponged some Moody Mauve Classic ink over the raised embossing using a Blending Brush, to help highlight the texture. I arranged the 5 Pebbled Path labels die cut with the Wonderful Thoughts Dies, spacing them evenly on the card front. I heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder on the right side of the bottom label and then attached each of the labels to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. To create the floral design on the left side of the card front, I attached the Moody Mauve floral die cut first towards the top and then added the Bubble Bath floral die cut so that it slightly overlapped the bottom of the top floral. I colored both of the die cuts with Clear Wink of Stella to add some shimmer and sparkle and completed the card design with several Moody Mauve In Color Dots. I really love this beautiful color combination and the simplicity of this card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to experiment with these beautiful new In Colors to create your own wonderful projects.

Around The World On Wednesday May Blog Hop Sketch 103 Challenge

It's time to hop along with the Around the World on Wednesday May Blog Hop and this month we have a Sketch Challenge to share with you. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas using the sketch below to help spark your creativity.
When I saw this month's Sketch Challenge, I knew that I wanted to incorporate a piece of designer series paper into my card design. I have been exploring new combinations using the Circle Sayings Bundle and I saw a design in the Bright & Beautiful 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper that I thought would work well for a ocean themed card design. The combination of Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon gave the design the look of waves, that I thought would pair perfectly with the seashells image from the Circle Sayings stamp set. To add some contrast, I used a strip of Pebbled Path cardstock that I embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, for the vertical panel on the sketch.  I love how this card design came together and the color combination of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Pebbled Path, Petal Pink and Very Vanilla features some of my favorite colors.
Products Used:
Circle Sayings Bundle (item #161355)
Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item #156406)
Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (item #156505)
Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (item #161449)
Pretty Peacock Cardstock (item #150880)
Lost Lagoon Cardstock (item #133679)
Pebbled Path Cardstock (item #161722)
Very Vanilla Cardstock (item #101650)
Lost Lagoon Classic Ink Pad (item #161678)
Pebbled Path Classic Ink Pad (item #161648)
Petal Pink Classic Ink Pad (item #147108)
Subtles Stampin' Write Marker Assortments (item #161698)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Classic Matte Dots (item #158146)
Measurements:
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Lost Lagoon Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" Embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
Pebbled Path Cardstock
1 Strip - 1" x 5 1/2" #Embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder
Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
Accent Layer - 5" x 2"
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Large Circle punched out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch
To create this beautiful card design, I started with a Pretty Peacock card base to coordinate with the piece of designer series paper I chose. For the card front, I chose to use Lost Lagoon, which is also featured in the designer series paper layer, and is a wonderful contrast for Pretty Peacock. I embossed the Lost Lagoon cardstock layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to add texture that resembles sand from the beach. I gently sponged this layer using a Blending Brush and Lost Lagoon Classic ink to bring out some of the raised detail. I attached the designer series paper layer to the right side of the Lost Lagoon card front and then added the card front to the Pretty Peacock card base. For the vertical strip, I embossed the Pebbled Path cardstock with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, to give the feeling of driftwood that you might find washed up on the beach. I attached it to the card front so that it covered the edge of the designer series paper layer.
The focal image was created by stamping the seashells image from the Circle Sayings stamp set with Pebbled Path Classic ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I then punched it out using the new 2 3/8" Circle Punch from the Circle Sayings Bundle. I added some color to the seashells using the Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker and then added some soft color to the background using a Blending Brush and Petal Pink Classic ink. To complete the focal image, I stamped the Thank You image with Lost Lagoon Classic ink on the left side of the seashell and attached the circle to the card front. To complete the card design, I added several Very Vanilla Matte Dots. This soothing card design would work well for a variety of occasions and would also make a great masculine card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try creating your own project using this Sketch Challenge. It's a great way to spark your creativity.

Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights May 2023

Welcome to Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights for May as we showcase amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. We will be sharing our projects and ideas with the theme "Thank You" to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects to send to family and friends. A hand made card is a wonderful way to show the people in your life how much you appreciate them.
With the launch of the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog this month, I thought I would design a Thank You card using the beautiful Timeless Arrangements Bundle. This wonderful bundle is so versatile and I love the combination of sentiment images and coordinating dies to help create pretty card designs. I paired this bundle with the new Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder, which adds wonderful texture to the background and I think coordinates with the die cuts in this bundle. With the new Color Refresh, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to explore new color combinations and I really love how Soft Sea Foam and the new Bubble Bath coordinate with the pretty Moody Mauve. This lovely design has the look of Spring wildflowers similar to the ones starting to bloom in the mountains here in Colorado.
Products Used:
Timeless Arrangements Bundle (item #161525)
Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder (item #161473)
Moody Mauve Cardstock (item #161723)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Bubble Bath Cardstock (item #161718)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)
Moody Mauve Classic Ink Pad (item #161649)
Sweet Sorbet 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon (item #159200)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock'
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Moody Mauve Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" Embossed with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder
Basic White Cardstock
Sentiment Label die cut with the Timeless Arrangements Dies
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
2 Detailed Leaves corners die cut with the Timeless Arrangements Dies
Bubble Bath Cardstock
2 Detailed Floral Corners die cut with the Timeless Arrangements Dies
This pretty Spring Thank You card requires minimal stamping and I love how the layers of die cuts provide the look of Spring flowers growing from behind the sentiment label. I stamped the Thank You sentiment using Moody Mauve Classic ink onto the Basic White label to create the focal image for the card. I added the leaves and flowers behind the sentiment label, offsetting them so that the flowers fit in between the leaves. The card front has been embossed using the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder and I love the wonderful texture it adds to the background. I attached the sentiment label to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals, making sure to center it. To embellish the card design, I added a small bow to the top left corner using the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon. I love that this ribbon works beautifully with this color combination.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my Thank You card will inspire you to get creative and come up with your own beautiful project designs. There are so many possibilities to explore in the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog.

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends May Blog Hop as we showcase Colorful Creations using beautiful new and returning colors from Stampin' Up! Our Design Team is excited to share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore the wonderful range of colors that Stampin' Up! has to offer.
I love the ocean, so the new Beauty of the Deep Bundle was one of the first products that caught my eye in the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I love the combination of stamp images and dies and couldn't wait to create a card design with them. I paired them with the new Countryside Corners Dies to create the frame and background for my design and I embossed the Pool Party background layer with the Cascading Ruffles 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to create the feeling of water. The colors I chose for this card design include Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat, combining new and returning colors with some of my current favorite colors. I love the feeling of looking through a window into an ocean scene that you might see at an aquarium.

One of my favorite things to do is experiment with new color combinations and I had so much fun mixing and matching some of the new/returning colors with some of my existing favorites. I was looking for a color combination that would reflect the colors of the sea and I am happy with how it turned out. The Countryside Corners Dies are wonderful for creating frames and windows, which is what I used them for in this card design. I used the new Wild Wheat In Color to stamp one of the fish images and I really like how it turned out. It created a more realistic looking fish for my design and worked well with the other colors. The coral die cut adds a lovely pop of color to the design and I used some of the pieces that popped out of the die cut to create the extra coral pieces on the left side of the card design. The sentiment is from the new Circle Sayings stamp set and I thought it worked perfectly for this card. The Gold heat embossing of the sentiment coordinates well with the rest of the design. I really love how this card turned out and I can't wait to explore using these new products and colors more in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will inspire you to get creative with some of the new and returning colors now available in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. You will find a range of coordinating products to help make creating your own projects simple and stress-free.
