Stamping With Friends June Blog Hop Color Combination Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends June Blog Hop as we share projects featuring this month's Color Combination Challenge. Our Design Team members have been challenged to create a project using Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Mango Melody and Pacific Point to help inspire you to step outside your comfort zone with these beautiful colors.

When I saw this color combination, it made think of one of my favorite bundles from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog, Seas The Day Bundle, which is unfortunately retiring. The images in this bundle are perfect for creating a fun, colorful seaside themed card. I also used the Gentle Waves stamp set (also retiring) to create the background for my design and I just love the wonderful texture this stamped image adds to the card. This card design would be great for a Summer birthday and would work well for Father's Day (you still have one more day) card.

Octopus, crab and two fish stamped and die cut with the Seas The Day Bundle

This fun card design has lots of wonderful layers to add texture and dimension. I love the way the Tahitian Tide waves look in the background to create depth and movement. I stamped the octopus with Mango Melody and the crab and two fish with Sweet Sorbet before die cutting them with the coordinating dies. The detailed frame creates a wonderful scene for this design, I love how the seaweed and coral create an almost interactive background. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto the Pacific Point circle and added it to the center of the card design. I added the octopus and crab towards the bottom of the card design and the two fish with Stampin' Dimensionals so that they slightly overlap the sentiment label. To finish off the design, I added two small Basic Rhinestones to the center label for a touch of bling.

New At SU February Blog Hop Seas The Day Bundle

Welcome to the New At SU February Blog Hop as we showcase products from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. Our talented Design Team Members will share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative with these amazing new products.

One of my favorite bundles in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog would have to be the Seas The Day Bundle. I love the ocean and this bundle has wonderful images and sentiments that are perfect for creating seaside themed projects. I paired it with the Simply Marbleous 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, which is one of the Level 1 Sale-a-Bration Rewards you can earn free with a qualifying $50 order. I love how the different textures combine to create the look of under the sea.

Coastal Cabana Sheet - 5 1/4" x 4" die cut with the Sea Dies

Basic White Cardstock

Octopus, crab & 2 starfish stamped and die cut with the Seas The Day Bundle

To create the background for this card design, I took a piece of the Coastal Cabana designer series paper and die cut the large background design. I then layered it onto a piece of the Balmy Blue designer series paper to creat the look of water in the background. I stamped the octopus with Calypso Coral, the crab with Cajun Craze and the two starfish with Bumblebee Classic inks onto Basic White cardstock and then die cut them with the coordinating dies. Using Clear Wink of Stella, I colored the stamped images to give the a touch of shimmer. I heat embossed the sentiment with Silver embossing powder onto the Balmy Blue designer series paper layer, towards the top right corner of the opening, to allow room for the octopus. I added the octopus to the card front so that the legs intertwined with the seaweed in the background. I added the crab to the bottom right corner and the starfish to the bottom left and top right of the card front. For the card base, I chose Misty Moonlight cardstock to make the card front pop. I added Iridescent Rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish off the card design. I love how this card turned out and how the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper adds texture to this design.
