Crafty Challenge July Blog Hop Color Inspiration

I am so excited to be a part of the Crafty Challenge July Blog Hop and this month we have a wonderful Color Inspiration using Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo to help us create our project.
For today's color challenge, I wanted to create a bright, cheerful birthday card featuring the Turtle Friends Bundle from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I used the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture for the background layer. This card design would work well of people of all ages to help brighten their special day.

Measurements:
Melon Mambo Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Scalloped Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
Sentiment Label - 1/2" strip trimmed to the correct length and  punched the ends using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch
Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Small Dragonfly punched with the Dragonflies Punch
Bermuda Bay Cardstock
Background Layer - 5" x 3 3/4" Embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder
Basic White Cardstock
Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
Scrap piece for turtle and party hat
The layers for this card design help step up this clean and simple card design. The embossing of the background layer resembles the turtle's skin and adds wonderful texture to the design. I stamped the turtle image onto a piece of Basic White cardstock with Bermuda Bay Classic ink and colored the image with the Light Granny Apple Stampin' Blends Marker except for the toes and tail, which I colored with the Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Marker. To create the shell, I stamped the detailed image onto the turtle using Bermuda Bay Classic ink. I punched it out using the Turtle Punch and added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back. For the party hat, I stamped it with Melon Mambo Classic ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and colored it with Light Melon Mambo and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers. I fussy cut the image and added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back. I stamped the grass image onto the Basic White circle with Granny Apple Green Classic ink and attached the circle to the Melon Mambo scalloped circle. I attached the turtle to the circle and added the party hat so that it sits on top of the turtle's head.
The sentiment was created by heat embossing the image onto the strip of Melon Mambo cardstock with White embossing powder. I trimmed the length and punched the ends with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. To decorate the sentiment, I punched out a small dragonfly with the Dragonflies Punch from a scrap of Granny Apple Green cardstock. I added some small Basic Rhinestones to add a touch of bling to the card design.  I attached the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered the dragonfly on the left side of the label. This card design is so much fun and I love how it turned out.

Ink. Stamp. Share. June Monthly Blog Hop CASE The Catalog

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. June Monthly Blog Hop and this month our theme is CASE the Catalog. What is CASE you may ask? It stands for Copy And Share Everything, where you can take an existing design and copy it exactly or make changes to create your own version of the design. It's a wonderful way to help spark your creativity. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
The card I chose to CASE from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog can be found on page 56 (card on the left side) and features the new Turtle Friends Bundle. I just love the adorable turtle images in the stamp set and the punch coordinates perfectly with the large turtle image. White the sample card in the catalog is a one layer note card, I decided I wanted to step my design up a bit and change the color combination to create my own spin on the design. I added texture to the background with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder and created the label for the sentiment with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. I wanted my create a birthday card, so instead of the bird image on the back of the turtle, I added a cute birthday hat to his head and some hearts to the background. Overall, I am really happy with how this card turned out and I love that the original card design helped provide me with a blueprint for my own version.

This cute turtle card is easy to create with just a few simple supplies and I love that this card could work as male or female birthday card. The Cinnamon Cider Designer Series Paper strip adds just a pop of color along with the Poppy Parade hearts in an otherwise monochromatic card. To create the turtle image, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and punched it out with the Turtle Punch. I colored the turtle with the Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker except for the shell and toes, which I colored with the Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker. I inked up the detailed shell image with Bermuda Bay Classic ink and stamped it onto the colored shell background of the turtle to get that wonderful two tone design. For the party hat, I stamped the image onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and colored it with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Markers. The sentiment was stamped onto a 1/2" x 4" strip of Basic White cardstock with Bermuda Bay Classic ink and I punched each end of the strip to create the decorative ends with the Lovely Label Pick a Punch. I love that this punch gives me the option to customize the length of my sentiment label. The Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder gives the background wonderful texture and reminds me of the skin of a turtle. I adhered it to the card base and then layered the card elements using Stampin' Dimensionals to create the layers for the design. I stamped the hearts onto the focal label with Poppy Parade Classic ink and then centered it on the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the Cinnamon Cider strip along the bottom of the label and added the turtle image on top using Stampin' Dimensionals, including the cute birthday hat. For the sentiment, I added it below the turtle's feet, centering it so that it slightly overlaps the designer series paper. To add a touch of bling, I added Basic Rhinestones to the design to finish off the design.
