ICS October Blog Hop All About Autumn

Welcome to the ICS October Blog Hop and this month we are celebrating All About Autumn. Here in Colorado we are enjoying the cooler weather and beautiful colors that we often associate with this time of year. Our Design Team is excited to share their projects and ideas to help get you in the spirit of the season and help you create your own beautiful projects to celebrate.
All around our neighborhood the leaves on the trees are changing and it is a beautiful sight. I wanted to capture some of that color in my card design to share with you today. I chose to use the Autumn Leaves Bundle that I recently ordered from the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog. I love the versatility of this beautiful stamp set and coordinating dies and it was so much fun layering the different shapes and colors to come up with this beautiful Fall card design.

Today's card design is full of texture and layers. I chose to emboss the Very Vanilla card front with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to add subtle texture to the background of the card design. I love the warmth of Very Vanilla cardstock and often use it for Fall designs as it works well with this color palette. I die cut a medium sized circle with the Deckled Circles Dies to create the base for the focal design for my card. I adhered the two "branches" to the circle to add some texture and detail to the design. These branches are actually the veins and stems for the leaves die cut with the coordinating dies. To create the focal leaf, I inked up the large leaf image with Crushed Curry Classic ink and then added some Pumpkin Pie Classic ink around the edges of the stamp using a Sponge Dauber, before stamping it onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I then die cut it out with the coordinating die. For the green leaves, I stamped the double leaf image twice onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Old Olive Classic ink and die cut the out with the coordinating die. I cut apart one set of the leaves using Paper Snips and then adhered the leaves to the back of the Pecan Pie circle so that the top of the leaves appeared behind the branches. I added the large leaf to the center of the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and then adhered the circle to the card front. For the sentiment, I combined two of the sentiment images onto the label and heat embossed them with Gold embossing powder. I looped some Crumb Cake Baker's Twine behind the sentiment label and adhered it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the design, I added several Gold Adhesive Backed Sequins to coordinate with the Gold embossing.
