ICS September Blog Hop September-December 2023 Mini Catalog Showcase

One of my favorite things about September, is the launch of the new September-December 2023 Mini Catalog full of new products to help us get ready for the holidays. I don't know about you, but I love the holidays, whether it is Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Our wonderful Design Team is showcasing products from this wonderful new catalog to help inspire you to get creative for the holidays and beyond. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore. I wonder which one will be your favorite?
Growing up in Australia, we didn't celebrate Halloween, so it wasn't until I moved to the U.S. when I was an adult that I had the chance to experience this amazing holiday. By the time my kids came along, I was a huge fan and we decorate our yard every year, ready for Trick or Treaters to come and visit us. So I decided to focus on the Tricks or Treats Bundle in the new September-December 2023 Mini Catalog and create some fun and not so spooky treats. This stamp set and coordinating dies provides so many wonderful options and my two little treat bags are just the tip of the iceberg for designs you can create.

These cute little treat bags are easy to assemble and so much fun to decorate. For each bag, I needed a 6"x12" piece of designer series paper to cut the two pieces using the Tricks or Treats Dies. For the Candy Corn bag, I chose the Crushed Curry polka dot pattern from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper for a colorful base. I decorated it with a two die cut pieces of candy corn and heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder onto the Basic Black circle. I love how the Basic Black circle just makes everything else pop. For the Frankenstein bag, I die cut the two pieces for the bag from a black and white piece of designer series paper (6"x12") that is also from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. I changed the color of the background by applying some Granny Apple Green Classic ink to the designer series paper with a Blending Brush and I love how it transformed the look of the bag. To decorate this bag, I stamped the Frankenstein image onto Basic White cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die. I added it to a Fresh Freesia cardstock circle with Stampin' Dimensionals and added the circle to the front of the bag. The tag has been heat embossed with White embossing powder with the work EEK! and I used a piece of Parakeet Party Baker's Twine to embellish the Basic Black tag. I wanted to show how versatile this bundle is and that you don't have to have Fall or Halloween specific paper for the bags to create fun projects for these seasons. It also means that you could create bags for occasions throughout the year including Christmas and Birthdays. Imagine all the wonderful possibilities available to you.
