Ink. Stamp. Share. January Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the start of a New Year with the Ink. Stamp. Share. January Showcase Blog Hop. Our amazing Design Team will be sharing their wonderful projects and ideas to help spark your creativity as well as share products from the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog. There are so many great new products available for you to explore.
One of my favorite things to do is to create pretty clean and simple cards with designer series paper. I have fallen in love with the beautiful Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward and I have been exploring ways to use it with products from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I recently bought the Sending Smiles Bundle and I decided to pair it with one of the designs from this paper pack, using Gold accents to help step up the design. The wonderful thing about the Sending Smiles Bundle is that it is full of beautiful sentiments and coordinating dies to cut them out, which makes creating clean and simple cards so much easier. I chose to create a birthday card but you really can use any of the sentiments in this bundle with this pretty paper to create a variety of cards.

This pretty card design is so simple to create and uses one of my favorite techniques, heat embossing, to help take it to the next level. This particular designer series paper has a lovely pale lavender color for the background, so when I heat embossed the Sending sentiment with Gold embossing powder onto the Basic White cardstock, it seemed a bit out of place. My solution was to take a Blending Brush and gently sponge Fresh Freesia Classic ink over the embossed sentiment to transform the Basic White background into a similar light purple color that coordinates with the designer series paper. With a tissue, I gently wiped off the embossed sentiment to remove any excess ink and bring the shine back to the Gold embossing. For the smaller sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and used the coordinating die to die cut it out. I attached the Sending sentiment to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and then added the narrow Blackberry Bliss sentiment below it with adhesive, centering under the larger sentiment. To embellish the card, I die cut several small Gold flowers using one of the dies from the Sending dies and attached them to the card front. I added small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the centers for a touch of bling. To finish off the design, I added two of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card front, near either end of the large sentiment. I really love how the sentiments dress up this pretty paper to create a soft and pretty birthday card.
