ICS May Blog Hop It's A Guy Thing

Welcome to the ICS May Blog Hop as we celebrate the men in our lives with our theme "It's A Guy Thing". Creating masculine card designs can be challenging, so our Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own wonderful projects for the men in your life.
For my masculine card design, I decided to focus on a nature theme using the beautiful New Horizons 6"x6" Designer Series Paper with the Wildlife Wonder stamp set. Both of these products can be found in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog and I think they pair perfectly together to create wonderful masculine cards. The designer series paper is perfect for the background, creating a scene for the bear that reminds you of a misty morning in the wild.

This clean and simple masculine card is easy to create with just a few supplies. I chose one of the designs from the New Horizons Designer Series Paper pack to create my background and stamped the foreground using images from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set, with Old Olive Classic ink. I then adhered it to the Evening Evergreen card base. For the bear, I stamped the image with Early Espresso Classic ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and fussy cut the image out. To create the sentiment, I die cut a circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies from Evening Evergreen cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment using Silver embossing powder. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bear and the sentiment to the card front and added Linen Thread to the left side of the card front, wrapping it twice before tying a knot, to complete the design. This card design would work for a variety of occasions including birthday and Father's Day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the many options available to help you create your own wonderful masculine cards.

  8. That DSP is so awesome and the bear is so real! Luckily, I have only seen them here from a distance. I don't fancy meeting one up close!
