Welcome to the New At SU April Blog Hop as we say goodbye to our favorite retiring products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share wonderful techniques to help inspire you to create your own wonderful projects.
Today I am sharing a version of the Scrappy Strip technique using a variety of strips of designer series paper in shades of purple to create a fun background. This technique is a great way to use up your scraps that you may have laying around, left over from other projects. I paired this technique with a retiring favorite, the Dandelion Wishes stamp set (item #151345). The wonderful thing about this technique is that you can use strips of any size and any color combination to create unique and fun designs.

I love the strong contrast of colors created by this color combination and it was a fun way to use up some left over scraps I had. I arranged the strips onto the Gorgeous Grape cardstock layer before adhering them to work out the spacing. Once I adhered all the strips down, I trimmed the layer to 5" x 3 5/8" to create an even border around the strip design. The sentiment and image from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set look amazing in White embossing against the Gorgeous Grape cardstock and really stands out as a focal point for the card design. I added the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Basic Pearls to step up the design and add a touch of bling. This design layout can be created in a variety of colors and you can change up the patterns or use cardstock to create the strips. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my fun scrappy strip technique will help inspire you to explore creating your own fun projects. It is a wonderful way to use up your paper scraps to create beautiful backgrounds.
