ICS Blog Hop It's A Love Thing

Welcome to the ICS February It's a Love Thing Blog Hop as we explore the theme of Love. This is my first time hopping with this very talented group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators and I am so excited to share with you all my project for this month.
Today I decided to create a masculine card design featuring the amazing Best Catch Bundle (item #150605) and I paired it with a wonderful new Cling background stamp called Crackle Paint (item #148752). Both of these can be found in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and I feel like they were made to go together.
I chose to use Blueberry Bushel cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that I stamped with the Crackle Paint stamp using Soft Suede Classic ink to create a wonderful aged look. The heart was die cut using one of the dies from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies (item #148527) from Blueberry Bushel cardstock and I embossed it with the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder (item #146841) from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. I sponged the edges of the heart die cut with Blueberry Bushel Classic ink to give it a distressed look.

The fish, basket and hat were stamped with images from the Best Catch stamp set item #148598) using Stazon Jet Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and I water colored them with a variety of Classic ink pad colors using an Aquapainter. Each image was die cut using the coordinating die from the Catch of the Day Thinlets dies (item #148815). When you order both the stamp set and coordinating dies as a bundle, you save 10%.

To finish off the card design, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder onto the Crumb Cake layer and added a piece of 1/4" Copper Trim that I teased apart underneath the fish for added dimension and texture. For a touch of sparkle, I added Clear Wink of Stella to each of the stamped images to give them the look of sunlight.
This masculine card design would make a wonderful Valentine's Day card for the special guy in your life. It would also work well as a birthday or Father's Day card. I just love how versatile these new products are and I can't wait to explore more possibilities to create with them.
