GSF Seasonal Fun December Blog Hop

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends December Blog Hop and this month our theme is to create something seasonal, whether it be for a particular season or to celebrate the holiday season. I have chosen to celebrate the holidays with a fun, cheerful Christmas card that will help brighten someone's day. As you hop along you will visit blogs from Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world and see what season the have chosen to celebrate.

For my Christmas card I chose the Making Christmas Bright Bundle (item #149947) and All is Bright Designer Series Paper (item #147892) to create my card design. I just love the bright colorful light bulbs on the designer series paper and it gave me the colors I needed to create my card.

The card base has been created with Real Red cardstock and I stamped the light strings image from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set (item #148046) in Real Red Classic ink for a tone on tone look. I matted the strip of designer series paper with Shaded Spruce cardstock to provide a border that pops against the Real Red card base.

The focal point was created by stamping the circle image with Shaded Spruce Classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock and I die cut it using the Layering Circles Framelits dies as well as the scalloped circle from Shaded Spruce cardstock.

The light bulbs were created by stamping the light images with Real Red Classic ink and punching them out using the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch (item #148013). The tops of the light bulbs were created by punching them out with the punch from Gold Glimmer Paper (item #146958) and attaching them to the top of the lights with a little Snail adhesive. To finish off the design, I created a bow using the Silver and Whisper White  Bakers Twine (item #145569) and attached it to the top of the circle with a glue dot.

I just love the way these products coordinate to create a fun, cheerful Christmas card perfect for the Holiday season. The All Is Bright Designers Series Paper is sadly retiring but the stamp set and builder punch will be carrying over to a future catalog. However, the bundle price retires soon, so I recommend that you order these products soon and take advantage of the 10% savings.
