Stamping With Friends March Blog Hop National Pet Day

This is my first month hopping with the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop and I am so happy to be a part of their March Blog Hop. Today we are sharing projects to celebrate a National Day in March or April to help inspire you.
The National Day I chose to showcase is National Pet Day which is on April 11th. Our family has a dog and three cats, so we are definitely pet lovers and the retiring Playful Pets Suite (item #154136) is perfect for creating cards with this theme. I decided to create a card design with one of the dogs in this suite to create a fun card that would work for a variety of occasions. I love the vibrant Real Red, Basic Black and Basic White color combination that I chose from the colors in the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (item #152489).

Scalloped Square die cut with Layering Squares Dies
Playful Pets Designer Series Paper
Background Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
Dog image die cut with Pets Dies
Basic Black Cardstock
Sentiment Label die cut with Nested Labels Dies
This clean and simple card design is easy to create and would work well with your choice of dog image from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. I chose this sweet puppy because there is a die in the Pets Dies that die cuts this particular image so that I didn't have to worry about fussy cutting. The bowl was stamped onto Basic White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored the image with the Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Pack. I fussy cut the bowl with my Paper Snips and attached both the dog image and the bowl to the Basic White square with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop them up. For the sentiment label, I trimmed off one end of the Basic Black label and heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder. To step up the design, I added one of the Playful Pets trinkets (the bone) and tied a bow with the Black and White Bakers Twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack. I attached the bone to the sentiment label with a Mini Glue Dot. The bright, bold colors make this card perfect for all ages and is sure to brighten someone's day.

ICS July Blog Hop Favorite Bundle

It's the beginning of July and time to hop along with the ICS Blog Hop as we share our favorite bundles from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their creative ideas to help inspire you.
I have so many "favorites" in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog but the Pampered Pets Bundle (item #154069) is the one that tugs at my heart. As a lover of both dogs and cats, this bundle is perfect for me and I love that the Pampered Pets stamp set (item #152520) has coordinating dies with the Pets Dies (item #152705) and when you order them together as a bundle, you save 10%.
It was tough to decide which images to use, but I finally decided to create my design with this cute cat. I chose Smoky Slate cardstock for my card base and I added a layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock for a pop of color. The background layer was created with a 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White cardstock and I added a strip of 1 1/4" x 5" designer series paper from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper (item #152489) to the left side with adhesive. I added a piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon along the edge of the designer series paper to create a decorative border.
For the focal image, I stamped the cat image onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Basic Gray Classic ink and colored in the image using Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Markers and Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers for the inside of the ears. I blended the area on the neck and tail using the Color Lifter to lighten and soften the color of the fur. Using the coordinating die, I die cut the cat image and added Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the back. To create the background, I die cut a Whisper White circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies (item #152323) and a layering scalloped Flirty Flamingo cardstock circle using the Layering Circles Dies (item #151770). I stamped the mouse image using Basic Gray Classic ink towards the bottom of the Whisper White circle and colored it with Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker. For the hearts, I stamped the image twice towards the top of the circle, using Flirty Flamingo Classic ink and colored them with the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Marker. I added the cat image to the Whisper White circle, centering it between the hearts and the mouse.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a scrap of Basic Black cardstock with White Embossing Powder and die cut the sentiment using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820). To assemble the card design, I attached the circle image towards the top center of the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and then attached the sentiment below the circle, centering it, using Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the design, I added Basic Rhinestones for a touch of bling. I love how Playful Pets Designer Series Paper worked with the Pampered Pets Bundle to create this fun and pretty card design. You can find both of these products in the Playful Pets Suite on pages 40-42 in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design helps you to see the versatility of this cute bundle and how much fun it is to create projects with it. The Playful Pets Suite has so many wonderful products that coordinate to help make creating simple and stress free.
