Paper Pumpkin Possibilities May Blog Hop Exploring In Color

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities May Blog Hop as we share alternative projects and ideas using the Exploring In Color Kit. This amazing card kit features the beautiful new 2023-2025 In Colors with wonderful scenic landscapes that work for a variety of occasions. Our talented Design Team members will be sharing their projects to help spark your creativity and help you to think outside the box.
The designs in this month's card kit remind me so much of the beautiful state of Colorado. I am so lucky to live in an area that has stunning views whether I am looking towards the Rocky Mountains to the west or the grassy plains to the East. The card bases are amazing and I knew that I just had to cut them in half to maximize the number of cards that I could create with this kit. Today I am sharing 2 card designs that I created using one of the card bases as well as supplies from the kit. I used Copper Clay cardstock to create the card bases for my designs and heat embossed the compass image from the exclusive stamp set with Gold embossing powder to create accents for my cards. I love that these card designs work perfectly for masculine cards and I see so many wonderful possibilities with this kit.

Paper Pumpkin Exploring In Color Kit
1 Card Base cut in half along the center fold line to create 2 card fronts. Trim both card fronts to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
2 Sentiment Labels
1 Moody Mauve Label
To create my 2 alternative card designs, I cut one of the card bases from the kit in half along the fold line. I then trimmed both pieces to create 2 card fronts measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". To step up the designs, I heat embossed the sentiments using Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the Gold embossed compasses. For the Adventure card, I wrapped the Linen Thread around the card front twice and tied a knot on the front. I added the sentiment label to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, centering it over the Linen Thread. I then added the fussy cut compass with a Stampin' Dimensional so that it slightly overlaps the top corner of the center and attached the card front to the Copper Clay card base.
For the birthday card, I tied a bow with the linen thread, similar to the instructions in the kit and attached it to the Moody Mauve label and attached it to the top of the card front. I then added the Gold embossed birthday sentiment label, slightly off setting it over the Moody Mauve label, using Stampin' Dimensionals to the center and right side of the label. I used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the left side so that it lays flat on the card front. To complete the design, I added the compass to the left side of the sentiment with a Stampin' Dimensional. For both cards, I used one of the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to the center of each compass to finish off the card design. I love the simplicity of these card designs and how the scenery of the backgrounds is the focus of each card design.
