Stamping With Friends January Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends January Blog Hop as we start off the New Year with a Sketch Challenge. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative for 2022. Sketches are a wonderful way to help spark your creativity by providing a map to help you create your card design. I hope that our blog hop will provide you with the inspiration to help you create your own wonderful card designs.
For today's sketch challenge, I have chosen to create a Valentine's Day card products from the Sweet Talk Suite in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. I love how these products coordinate to make it so much simpler to create my projects. I paired the Sweet Conversations Bundle with the Sweet Talk 12"x12" Designer Series Paper to create this fun card. I adapted the layout of the sketch using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and embossed the Real Red cardstock layer with one of the Dotty Hearts Embossing Folders to add texture. The colors I chose came from the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper and I love how they work together.

The sketch layout for this challenge provided me with the inspiration for my design and I chose to use a strip of the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper for the background. I used the large label from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to create the Real Red cardstock layer and embossed it with one of the Dotty Hearts Dies and attached it to the card front, overlapping onto the designer series paper. For the sentiment, I stamped the image from the Celebrating You stamp set with Real Red Classic ink onto the Basic White label die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I attached it to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, overlapping the over two layers. I stamped the heart image using the Sweet Conversations stamp set with Real Red Classic ink for the outline and Blushing Bride Classic ink for the solid image. I die cut it with the coordinating die from the Sweet Hearts Dies and attached it to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals so that it overlapped the bottom corner of the sentiment label. I added a small Real Red Heart die cut with the Sweet Heart Dies so that it overlaps the Blushing Bride heart, using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional. To finish off the card design, I added three small Basic Rhinestone Jewels for a touch of bling. As you can see, my card design follows the sketch layour without having to use exactly the same shapes for each of the layers. It's a great way to add your own unique touch to a sketch.
