Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop for the month of May. This month we are saying goodbye to the Occasions Catalog and the products that will be retiring at the end of May. You may have just visited Amy's blog or perhaps you are starting your blog hop journey here. I hope that you will enjoy our projects and be inspired to explore the ideas we have shared in your own creations.
The card I created today features the retiring stamp set, Lovely Wishes (item #145924), from the Occasions Catalog. I love the organic feel to this stamp set and it looks amazing when heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. This set has a variety of images and sentiments in it that makes it easy to create a project using just this stamp set.
The colors I chose for my card come directly from the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #145580). Did you know that each pack of designer series paper has a list of the colors that used in the designs? This list of colors makes it easy to choose what color cardstock, ink and embellishments to use to create your project. For this card, I chose to use Rich Razzleberry for my card base and for the narrow cardstock strip that I used to matte the strip of designer series paper. The top layer of the card is Melon Mambo cardstock and I embossed it using the floral folder from the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (item #145656). I attached a piece of Gold 1/8" Ribbon (item #134583) along the edge of the Rich Razzleberry cardstock to embellish the card.
I used the Layering Circles framelits dies to die cut a circle from Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment and a scalloped circle from Rich Razzleberry cardstock to use as a matte. The sentiment and floral design were embossed with Gold embossing powder and I used Powder Pink Classic ink to stamp floral images.
To embellish the sentiment, I colored three small Basic Pearls using the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the Whisper White cardstock. I then matted this circle onto the Rich Razzleberry scalloped circle and attached it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Both the Lovely Wishes stamp set and the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper are retiring. The designer series paper is available only while supplies last and the stamp set is guaranteed availability until May 25th, and then while supplies last until May 31st, 2018.
I hope that this card has helped to show how easy it is to create projects with designer series paper. It can really take your project to the next level and helps take the guesswork out what colors to use. I hope this will inspire you to explore using designer series paper in your next project.
Now it's time to visit Jackie's blog and see what she has created this month as we say goodbye to the Occasions Catalog. Just click the Next button below to visit her blog or use the Blog Hop Roll Call list below if you get lost. Enjoy the rest of the blog hop.
