National Craft Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the National Craft Month Blog Hop, featuring Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world, sharing ideas to inspire you to get crafty. Today I will be showcasing the Lots of Happy Card Kit (item #146388) from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.

I often hear people say that they just don't have time anymore to craft or they aren't creative. My solution to both of these problems is to suggest one of the many amazing kits that Stampin' Up! has to offer. 

The Lots of Happy Card Kit is an all inclusive kit, which means that it includes the supplies, stamp set and ink spot to help you create 20 beautiful cards. The kit includes a clear block to use with your photopolymer stamp set and there are coordinating envelopes for your cards. 

I chose to make 2 of the cards from the kit but I decided to use a little creative license to make them unique. Both cards are created using the supplies from the kit plus I chose to do a little heat embossing to step them up a little. 

For this card I used the larger card base 4 1/4" x 5") and attached the patterned piece of paper to the card base. Next I attached one of the Gold Foil banners on top of the patterned paper.  I colored the floral printed die cuts with the Rich Razzleberry and Lemon Lime Twist Watercolor pencils (included in the kit) and then used a Blender pen to smooth out the color to give it a watercolor look. Then I used the Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil from the Watercolor Pencils set (item #141709 Annual Catalog) to add a little color to the flowers and once again used the Blender pen to smooth out the color. I layered the die cuts using the Stampin' Dimensionals from the kit and attached them to the Gold Foil banner. I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder and attached it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. 

This is a lovely clean and simple design that was easy to create but looks simply amazing. 

The second card I created, I followed the instructions in the kit for the card pretty closely but decided to once again heat emboss the sentiment with Gold embossing powder. I love heat embossing and I think the gold just added a classic elegance to the card design. The floral design was colored using the Watercolor Pencils that were included in the kit, but I also chose to use the Pacific Point Watercolor pencil again to create a soft blue background around the flowers. I used the Blender pen to smooth out the color for a softer watercolor look. 

Before assembling the card, I used the larger floral stamp image included in the kit to create a watermark background in each of the corners of the card base. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and then heat embossed the images with Clear embossing powder. I really liked the soft, romantic feel it created for the card base and the way it finished off the card design. 

So there you have it. Two beautiful cards that I was able to create just by using this amazing kit and few extra supplies. There are so many wonderful possibilities with this kit for the more experienced and adventurous crafter without the stress of having to create your cards from scratch. 

The best news is that you can also buy a refill kit with the additional supplies to create 20 additional cards, if you are like me and just can't get enough of this kit. (Note: refill kit does not include the stamp set, Watercolor Pencils, ink spot or Clear Block).
