Welcome to February's Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world to share their projects to help inspire you. This month's theme is Love, which seems appropriate for February. You have probably just visited with Erica or perhaps this is your first stop. Either way, I hope you enjoy the creative journey.
I decided to feature the January Paper Pumpkin kit and show how you can create alternative projects using products from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and the 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog.
What is Paper Pumpkin you may ask? It is a monthly subscription kit that Stampin' Up! offers in the United States and Canada, with a complete project in a box for you to complete without the stress. Everything is prepped ready for you to create.
January's Paper Pumpkin kit, Heartfelt Love Notes, contains supplies to create 16 cards (8 each of 2 designs), including envelopes suitable for, but not limited to, Valentine's Day. The kit also includes an exclusive stamp set and a Rich Razzleberry Classic ink spot.
As you can see, I had a little fun with this kit and I love how they turned out. Most of the supplies are from the kit and I just added a stamp set, ink and some cardstock to transform them into something new.
The first card was transformed using the Magical Day stamp set and coordinating Magical Mates Framelits dies (when purchased together you can save 10%). There are so many amazing images in this stamp set but I decided to create the dragon because I thought it would be perfect for boys for Valentine's Day. I stamped the image with Archival Basic Black ink and colored him with Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Pencils. I then blended the colors using a blender pen and added a little sparkle with Clear Wink of Stella. No fussy cutting necessary with the matching framelit die and he is ready to attach to a Bermuda Bay cardstock circle punched out with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch. I layered the Flirty Flamingo Banner on top of the Bermuda Bay circle and then attached the dragon with Mini Dimensionals before attaching the circle to the card base with Snail adhesive.
The label is from the kit and I stamped the sentiment from kit with Lemon Lime Twist Classic ink. I then layered it onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock punched with the Everyday Label Punch, which I am happy to say, carried over from the Holiday Catalog. I attached the label to the card base with Mini Dimensionals.
Using the ribbon from the kit, I tied a basic knot to close the card, which is perfect if you want to include a sweet treat inside. I love the contrast of bright colors against the black and white pinstripe of the card base. It's quick and easy to create, making it perfect if you have to make a bunch for a class for your child.
The 2nd card uses the other card base which has beautiful copper hearts on a black background. This time I chose one of my favorite Sale-a-bration stamp sets, Party Pandas, to decorate this card. I stamped the panda image onto a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock and then fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips. These panda images are simple to cut out and don't take very long to do. With a Real Red Marker, I colored in the tiny heart and our panda is ready to go.
I attached the Flirty Flamingo Banner from the kit to the card base and attached the Vellum Heart Die cut (also in the kit) with Glue Dots (you guessed, included in the kit) and finally attached the Panda with Mini Dimensionals. I added a little Clear Wink of Stella to the Panda for a little shimmer.
Next I went to work on the banner created with products from the kit. I stamped the sentiment using one of the stamps included in the kit with the Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink spot, also from the kit. I then attached the sentiment to the card base with Mini Dimensionals and embellished the label with the cute Flirty Flamingo Enamel Shapes from the kit. Once again, I tied a simple knot with the ribbon included in the kit to secure the flap of the card. Voila! A cute Valentine's Day card that is sure to make everyone smile.
