Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Anniversary Blog Hop. We have 21 amazing stampers from around the world, sharing their blogs for you to visit and inspire you. This is my first time hopping with Global Stamping Friends and I am so excited to be a part of this fantastic group of stampers.
Because we are celebrating Global Stamping Friends 1st Anniversary, I thought that I would share 3 different cards that would work well as masculine anniversary cards. If you are like me, you struggle to come up designs that are suitable for the men in your life, so I hope these cards help inspire you. For inspiration I visited my faithful friend Pinterest and was amazed at the variety of cards that I found.
My first card features the stamp set, High Tide, and I love this card because you can create it using just this stamp set. This set has a wonderful combination of images and sentiments to help you create cards for a wide variety of occasions. The sentiment I chose reminded me of the vows my husband and I took 25 years ago when we got married and I thought it was perfect for an anniversary card. I embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder to make it stand out more. My husband grew up on the East Coast so I thought the beach scene with the lighthouse was perfect for him. I created the feel of a sunset by lightly sponging the background with Peekaboo Peach and the light beams were created by stamping the image in Soft Sky Classic ink. I added a touch of sparkle to the light beams and the water with Wink of Stella. The lighthouse is stamped on an oval die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and popped up with dimensionals. This card was inspired by a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Stampin with Liz Design.
My final card features a new stamp set, This Little Piggy, in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and it's a big favorite of mine. While browsing through Pinterest, I found a lot of card designs that feature the different pig images stacked on top of each other and that really appealed to the whimsy in me. I stamped two of the pigs onto Pink Pirouette cardstock and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I then stamped the Hogs & Kisses Pig image onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, making sure to mask the sentiment, to help with placement. I sponged one of the pigs with a little Crumb Cake Classic ink to give him the appearance that he was a bit muddy. The other little pig I highlighted with Pink Pirouette Classic in using a Blender Pen and then added a little sparkle with Wink of Stella. I attached the two pigs to the Whisper White cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals. The balloons were created by using the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out balloons in Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight and Peekaboo Peach cardstock. I sponged each one with the corresponding ink and then highlighted with Wink of Stella. I used a little Bakers Twine to create the balloon strings. The sentiment is one of my favorites from the stamp set, Layering Love, and I thought it was perfect for an anniversary card. I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold Embossing Powder. Assembly of this card is quick and easy and the Pear Pizzazz card base works great with the fun, bright colors.
I hope these card designs have helped inspire you when it comes to masculine cards and will help you think out of the box when it comes to creating cards for the men in your life. Now it is time for you to visit the next blog on our hop, the very talented Anita Wifladt and see her wonderful creations.

Lovely Anita You do so well with the masculine cards I think we all struggle I love the way you have used the sentiments on all your cards they are all so fitting with the occasion & can't help but love the cute little pigs
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna for your kind words. The pigs are so cute and I think they work for a more whimsical card. I like that each card can suit a different type of person.
DeleteThey are all great cards, each is so different it's hard to pick a favorite. I do love how you sponged the "guy" piggy to be a little muddy-looking, though ;-) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I thought it was appropriate for the bottom piggy to be a little dirty. I am finding more and more that there are ways to look at stamp sets and find a new purpose for them.
DeleteI agree, the muddy piggy sells it. The other 2 are just great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan. Yes he is a cute muddy pig and he looks so happy to be that way. I am so glad you liked my cards.
