I can't believe we are already at Week 20 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. The year is going by so fast. This week I am excited to showcase the beautiful Azure Afternoon from the Brights Collection. There is so much to love about this vibrant blue and I had so many options to choose from to create my card design. I hope you like what I came up with.
For my card design, I chose to use one of the designs from the Bright & Beautiful 6"x6" Designer Series Paper for the background. I love the wonderful tone on tone design and the wonderful subtle texture it adds to the design. I am not a big flower person, but I do love the Stippled Roses stamp set and I wanted to use it for my card design. I also incorporated one of my favorite techniques, heat embossing, to help step up the design to add a touch of elegance.

For those of you who have been following me, you know how much I love to create clean and simple cards and then stepping them up to make them extra special. This card is no exception and I used one of my favorite techniques to add a touch of elegance to this pretty card design. I also had fun using designer series paper to create my background and I love the subtle tone on tone design with its variations of color. Using the Stippled Roses stamp set, I heat embossed the detailed leaves image in the bottom left and top right corners of the card front layer using Gold embossing powder. I just love how rich and beautiful it looks against the Azure Afternoon background. Using the small rose image, I stamped it several times around the edges with Azure Afternoon Classic ink to create a lovely tone on tone floral design. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the Congratulations image with Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the leaves on the card front. I layered it onto a matte layer of Azure Afternoon and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. To complete the design, I added several of the Iridescent Foil Gems to coordinate with the Gold embossing. I love how this card design turned out and how it helped me combine some of my favorite things - the color blue, heat embossing and my love of roses, into one beautiful card design. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore using Azure Afternoon in your creative projects. This beautiful blue is so versatile and would work well for a variety of occasions.
