Welcome to the September Paper Pumpkin Possibilities (PPP) Blog Hop as we showcase the Bone Appetit kit. This fun Halloween themed treat box kit is perfect for taking care of those cute trick or treaters in your life but if you are looking for some spooky ideas to get you thinking outside the box, this blog hop is for you. I hope that our projects will help inspire you to get into the spirit of the season.
From the moment I saw the beautiful Gorgeous Grape box, I knew that I was going to love this month's kit. The fact that I knew it would be a Halloween kit made me extra happy because I love this fun holiday. While I normally create cards from my kits, I just knew that this month my alternative ideas would feature the cute little boxes that are so perfect for small hands. My daughter is an assistant teacher at a Montessori school and she works with small children each day and her students became my inspiration for my projects. Because the children in her class are so young, I wanted to make sure that the treat boxes didn't have any embellishments or small pieces that they could take off the box and put in their mouth that might be a hazard. So I decided to decorate my treat boxes with the images from the Boo To You stamp set (item #150550) in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. These cute little monsters are so much fun and sure to make my daughter's class squeal with delight.
To decorate the front of the boxes, I stamped the images onto Thick Whisper White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with a variety of Stampin' Blends Markers. I just love the vibrant colors of these markers and they are perfect for your children. I fussy cut out the zombie and monster and attached them to a Basic Black cardstock oval with the Black Stampin' Dimensionals from the kit and then layered it onto a Pumpkin Pie scalloped oval to create the background. I used the Layering Ovals Dies (item #151771) to die cut these pieces. I attached the ovals to the front of the boxes with Snail Adhesive.
To decorate the back of the boxes, I took two of the tags, one purple and one black, and attached them to the back of the boxes with Snail Adhesive. I then stamped two of the white labels (the ones that look like headstones) using the Eat If You Dare sentiment (from the stamp set in the kit) using the Gorgeous Grape Classic ink spot included in the kit. I attached them to the top of the tags on the box with the Black Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the tags, I stamped the small orange framed labels with sentiments from the stamp set using the Gorgeous Grape Classic ink - one with Happy Halloween and the other with Bone Appetit. I attached these labels to the tag using Black Stampin' Dimensionals.
I love how cute these treat boxes turned out with that touch of spooky that is perfect for little kids. If you were making these treat boxes for older children, or even adults, you could add embellishments like ribbon or googly eyes to dress them up.
