Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 47 - Lost Lagoon

It's time for Week 47 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and this week we are showcasing Lost Lagoon from the Subtles Collection. This pretty blue-green color is perfect for Winter themed projects and I couldn't resist using it to create a sweet Christmas card to celebrate the holidays.
For this week's card design, I chose to use the Christmas Friends Bundle and combined it with one of the designs from the A Little Latte Designer Series Paper to create this fun and festive card. I love the ombre feel of the striped designer series paper and how it adds wonderful texture to the background. This pretty clean and simple card design is sure to bring a smile to someone's face when they receive it for the holidays.

Polar Bear stamped and die cut with the Christmas Friends Bundle
To create this week's card design, I chose to add a piece of the striped Lost Lagoon Designer Series Paper to create the background. It's a great way to add color and texture without a lot of work. For the background circle, I embossed it using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to add some subtle texture and then gently brushed Lost Lagoon Classic ink over the raised embossing using a Blending Brush to help bring out the detail of the snowflakes. I added the circle to the center of the card front and then added the polar bear image that I colored with Stampin' Blends Markers to add a pop of color. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to help pop up the bear to add some dimension to the design. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Lost Lagoon ink onto the Basic White label and then added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, centering it below the focal circle. to complete the card design, I added several of the Loose White Snowflakes for a little extra texture and interest.

New At SU November Blog Hop One Color Palette, Many Ways Color Challenge Dear Santa

It's time to hop along with the New At SU November Blog Hop and this month we have a fun Color Challenge to explore. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their ideas and projects featuring the following colors: Moody Mauve, Bubble Bath, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Basic Beige. We can choose to use all or some of these colors to create our projects to help spark your creativity.
For my card design, I chose to create a fun, non-traditional Christmas card design using all of the above colors. This isn't a color combination that I would have thought to create with on my own, so it was a wonderful way for me to step outside my comfort zone and explore this beautiful colors. I used a combination of card stock, designer series paper and inks in the various colors to showcase how well these colors work together. I did add one extra color, Lemon Lolly, for the hair for my image. The patterns in the designer series paper strips add texture and contrast to the design and work well with the whimsy of the focal image and sentiment from the Dear Santa stamp set. I love how all the different elements combined to create this sweet Christmas card that will hopefully brighten someone's day.

I love the fun images in the Dear Santa stamp set and I thought the sweet little girl eating the cookies was perfect for this color combination. The combination of the Moody Mauve and Mossy Meadow Designer Series Paper strips really pop against the Basic Beige card front and add some fun to this card design. I used Stampin' Blends Markers to color the focal image as well as Basic Beige Classic ink with a Blender Pen to color the cookies. The Old Olive cardstock layer makes a wonderful border around the card front and pops against the Moody Mauve card base. To complete the layout, I stamped the sentiment with Moody Mauve Classic ink onto the Bubble Bath cardstock label and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added several Bubble Bath Dots to a subtle touch of bling to finish off the card design. I love how this card design turned out and how pretty it looks with this color combination.

Tis The Season Blog Hop

Welcome to the Tis The Season Blog Hop as our Design Team showcases their holiday projects and ideas to help you get in the spirit of the season. With Christmas fast approaching, now is the perfect time to create your own handmade cards to send out to family and friends.
For my Christmas card, I wanted to showcase an elegant, clean and simple design that works well for a masculine card. I chose to use the black and white design from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper for my card front and added a tint of color using Blending Brushes and classic inks. I was inspired by the technique used to color black and white photos and I love the way it transformed this beautiful design.
Products Used:
Greetings of the Season stamp set (item #164325)
Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper (item #162133)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)
Shaded Spruce Classic Ink Pad (item #147088)
Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad (item #153118)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Wow Embossing Powders (item #165678)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 4 1/4" x 11" (Scored at 5 1/2")
Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This clean and simple Christmas card is simple to create and is perfect for mailing. I chose to use Shaded Spruce and Misty Moonlight Classic inks to add a touch of color to the trees and sky of the black and white design, to give it a pale, frosty feeling. The hint of color helps make the deer image in the foreground stand out while still giving the card a wonderful wintery look. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image directly onto the card front with Silver embossing powder to add a touch of elegance. I decided not to add any embellishments to the design, choosing to keep the design as simple as possible. The contrast between the pale colors of the card front and the Thick Basic White card base gives the card an almost photographic quality that I love.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my Christmas card will help put you in the mood to create your own beautiful holiday projects to share with family and friends. Using designer series paper to create clean and simple cards can open up so many possibilities to explore your creativity and a wonderful way to show the people in your life how much you love them.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 46 - Lemon Lime Twist

Welcome to Week 46 of the Monochromatic Color Challenge as we showcase Lemon Lime Twist. This chameleon like color is so versatile and works well for so many occasions. I love that it is the perfect blend of yellow and green that can add a fresh, fun look to your projects.
For my card design today, I decided to create a fun snowman themed card with a difference. Can you imagine a snowman chilling on the beach with his parrot buddy? Of course, I had to give him a cool Hawaiian shirt and hat to help keep the sun off and I had fun using the paper piecing technique to color and texture. Paper piecing is a wonderful way to add color to an image without actually having to color, so if you are not a fan of coloring, maybe this technique is for you? I stamped the images onto two different patterns of Lemon Lime Twist Designer Series Paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I fussy cut them out to add to my snowman. I think he is a sharp dressed snowman, don't you?
Products Used:
Snowman Hugs stamp set (item #164315)
Deckled Circles Dies (item #162286)
Deckled Rectangles Dies (item #159173)
Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #163775)
Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock (item #144245)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161682)
Bubble Bath Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161675)
Pool Party Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154894)
Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154883)
Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161674)
Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154897)
Tinsel Gems Four Pack (item #161623)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Large Circle die cut with the Deckled Circles Dies
Sentiment Label die cut with the Deckled Rectangles Dies
Lemon Lime Twist Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4"
Hat stamped and fussy cut
Shirt stamped and fussy cut
I really wanted to go with the fun Hawaii tropical beach theme for my card and the patterns in the Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack were a perfect fit. I used the same design for the card front as I did for the shirt and I colored the flowers on the shirt with the Dark Bubble Bath Stampin' Blends Marker to add to the tropical feel. The hat image was stamped on the polka dot pattern and I thought it gave it an almost camo feel to the hat. I love the look of the deckled edges for the focal circle and the sentiment label and I love how they pop against the Lemon Lime Twist card front. To complete the card design, I added two of the small Lemon Lime Twist Gems from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack for a touch of bling. Imagine sending this card to someone during the Winter to help warm their heart and brighten their day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my sweet snowman card will inspire you to explore creating your own fun projects for the holidays and beyond using Lemon Lime Twist.

ICS November Blog Hop Christmas Is Coming

It's time to hop along with the ICS November Blog Hop and this month our theme is Christmas is Coming. Can you believe how quickly this year has flown by? If you are like me, you are probably still working on your holiday list and wondering how you will get it all done. The good news is that our wonderful Design Team has amazing projects and ideas to help inspire you and spark your creativity.
It's been a crazy time in our home these past few months, which has meant that I have had less time to get creative for the holidays. Luckily, Stampin' Up! has a wonderful range of Mix & Match products to help me create beautiful Christmas cards and take the stress out of creating. For my card design today, I chose to use one of the card fronts from the A Little Bit Festive Mix & Match Specialty Designer Series Paper and one of the sentiment labels from the Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack to create a beautiful clean and simple design that requires no stamping. Yes, I said no stamping. Which means you can just have fun selecting your favorite elements and adhering them to your card base to create your cards in next to no time. Add a little bling and you are all set to send them out to family and friends. Doesn't that sound amazing?!!

Happy Christmas Sentiment
People often think that card making requires a lot of supplies and expensive tools and that often scares them away from the joy of creating their own handmade cards. With the new Mix & Match products in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog, there are so many wonderful options to help you create your own beautiful designs, no matter what your skill level. As you can see from my clean and simple card design, you can choose the elements that work for you and mix and match them to create your own beautiful Christmas card. I chose to use Real Red and Granny Apple Green cardstock for this card design to coordinate with the colors in the preprinted card front. I love the Gold embossed accents on the card front and the sentiment label and the Gold Pearls from the Blooming Pearls just adds a touch of bling that helps step up this pretty card. Just think how much fun you could have with family and friends, getting together for an afternoon of crafty fun and creating memories to send out to the special people in your life.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help you get into the holiday spirit and inspire you to create your own beautiful Christmas projects. There are so many wonderful options to explore.

Around The World On Wednesday November Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday November Blog Hop as we have fun with a Color Challenge with a twist. We were given the choice between traditional colors or coastal colors and I decided to take the non-traditional option to have a little fun with my Christmas card design. Our Design Team will be sharing their take on this Color Challenge to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects for the holidays.
For my card design, I wanted to combine the Winterly Tree Tops Dies with the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper to create a pretty Christmas card design. I love the combination of Coastal Cabana with Pretty In Pink and I chose one of the designs from the designer series paper to create a snowy background scene for my design. I used one of the images from the designer series paper featuring the pair of birds as my focal image. The sentiment was created using the Greetings of the Season Bundle to help finish off the design.
Products Used:
Greetings of the Season Bundle (item #164113)
Winterly Tree Tops Dies (item #164065)
Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper (item #164183)
Coastal Cabana Cardstock (item #131297)
Pretty In Pink Cardstock (item #163793)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Pretty In Pink Classic Ink Pad (item #163807)
Blooming Pearls (item #162238)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Coastal Cabana Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Detailed Card Front die cut with the Winterly Tree Tops Dies
Pretty In Pink Cardstock
Detailed Card Front die cut with the Winterly Tree Tops Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Sentiment Label stamped and die cut with the Greetings of the Season Bundle
Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Birds on a Branch image die cut using the Winterly Tree Tops Dies
This pretty Christmas card is all about layers of color and I had so much fun with the combination of Pretty In Pink and Coastal Cabana that I saw in the Color Challenge image. They definitely not what you would expect to see for a traditional holiday card design and I like the fresh feel they give. I love that the designer series paper for the background gives the appearance of falling snow and the die cut frames in Pretty in Pink and Coastal Cabana add depth and dimension to the design. For the focal image, I die cut the birds from the designer series paper with the coordinating die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies and then I applied Pretty In Pink Classic ink to the images using a Blending Brush to add a pale tint to coordinate with the card design. For the sentiment, I stamped the images using Pretty In Pink Classic ink onto the Basic White sentiment label that I die cut with the Greetings of the Season Dies. For a touch of bling, I added several pink pearls from the Blooming Pearls to complete the design. I love how these colors and designs all layered together to create this beautiful Christmas card. It is a wonderful example of how you can use non-traditional colors to create your own beautiful designs.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my version of the Coastal Colors Color Challenge image helps inspire you to explore using these pretty colors to create your own beautiful holiday cards. Don't be afraid to mix and match different products to create your own unique creations.
