Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 8 Sweet Sorbet

It's time to celebrate Friday with the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. It's Week 8, which means our Challenge Color this week is Sweet Sorbet, one of the 2022-2024 In Colors. I love this beautiful, vibrant red and I am excited to share with you the card I created with this fun color.
For today's card design, I decided to bring out an old favorite from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. The Hello Ladybug stamp set and coordinating Ladybug Builder Punch are perfect for showcasing this bright red and I had so much fun creating this clean and simple card design. I also used the Stylish Shapes Dies, one of my go-to favorites to create this layout and used one of the designs from the 2022-2024 In Colors 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to create a fun, cheerful background. There is something so amazing about the combination of black, white and red that I love and it works so well for this card design.

This clean and simple card is easy to create a bright and cheerful card design. When I first thought about creating a card design with Sweet Sorbet, I thought it would be perfect to use with the Hello Ladybug stamp set. The black, white and Sweet Sorbet color combination was the perfect fit and I couldn't wait to get started. I wanted to find a way to really make the Sweet Sorbet pop, so I decided to use Basic Black cardstock for the card base and the accent layers. I die cut a Basic Black circle to frame the Basic White focal circle to help it stand out against the Sweet Sorbet polka dot designer series paper. I punched out the body with the Ladybug Builder Punch and added it to the center of the Basic White circle. For the wings, I stamped the wing image with Sweet Sorbet onto Basic White cardstock and then stamped the dots image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the wings. I then punched it out with the Ladybug Builder Punch and added it to the back of the ladybug body. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Sweet Sorbet Classic ink onto the Basic White label and then layered it onto the Basic Black matte label. I wapped a piece of the Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine around the card front twice and tied a knot on the left side. I attached the sentiment label over the top of the twine with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and added the focal image above it with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a touch of bling, I added two of the Sweet Sorbet Pearls to the sentiment label to finish off the design. Isn't it just the cutest card? What do you think about Sweet Sorbet? Is it a yay or a nay color for you? I would love to know what you think.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that this fun, cheerful card design will encourage you to give Sweet Sorbet a second look. I love how these products all coordinate to make it simple for you to mix and match to come up with your own unique designs. For my simple design, it is all about ink, paper and stamps and for my stepped up design, I added die cutting and designer series paper to take it to the next level. As you can see, I used elements from my simple card to create my stepped up card design. Both designs are a great way to create beautiful cards to send to the people we care about.

Stems stamped and die cut with the Painted Lavender Bundle
Lost Lagoon Cardstock
2 Greenery stems die cut with the Painted Lavender Dies
Fresh Freesia Cardstock
2 Floral stems die cut with the Painted Lavender Dies
For the Simple card design, I chose start with a Crumb Cake cardstock card base to help offset the different purples. I used Fresh Freesia cardstock as a matte layer to add a pop of color between the card base and the focal layer that helps tie everything together. To create my focal layer, I stamped the lavender using Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape Classic inks to create the different layers of color. As you can see, some of the florals have been stamped using 2nd Generation stamping to create depth and dimension and an almost watercolor look. For the stems, I stamped the image using Lost Lagoon Classic ink, lining it up with the bottom of the floral images. I stamped the sentiment and the small butterflies using Gorgeous Grape Classic ink to add a nice contrast with the softness of the lavender bouquet. To embellish the card, I added a Linen Thread bow and several of the beautiful Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to complete the card design.
For my Stepped Up card design, I once again chose to use Crumb Cake cardstock for my card base. It is a wonderful neutral that works well with all the purples in this design. This time, I used one of the pretty designs from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper for my card front to add some wonderful texture and color to the background. I die cut the focal background using the Perennial Postage Dies from Basic White cardstock to use it to help make the Lavender Bouquet pop and attached it to the card front on the upper left side. To create the bouquet, I stamped three of the lavender sprays, 1 Fresh Freesia and 2 Highland Heather, onto Basic White cardstock to create a soft watercolor look. I then die cut these out with the coordinating die. I also stamped the stems using Lost Lagoon Classic ink onto Basic White cardstock and die cut them out as well. In addition, I die cut 2 of the leaves die cuts from Lost Lagoon cardstock and 2 of the florals die cuts from Fresh Freesia cardstock to add some color and texture to the bouquet. To start with, I added the stems die cut so that it layered slightly over the bottom of the Basic White layer, ready to build the bouquet. I added the leaves and floral die cuts first to the Basic White layer and then added the stamped lavender, using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the tops while adhere the bases directly to the focal layer. Using a drop of Highland Heather Classic ink refill, I mixed it in with Clear Wink of Stella to color one of the Paper Butterfly Accents. Once dry, I attached it to the center of the bouquet with a Mini Glue Dot and embellished it with several of the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Fresh Freesia Classic ink onto the Basic White sentiment label and added it to the bottom right corner of the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the card design, I added a Linen Thread bow to the stems of the bouquet. I love how both of these card designs turned out. They are so different yet use so many of the same supplies.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my examples of a simple and stepped up card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects. It is a great way to create a variety of designs using similar supplies.

For my birthday card today, I decided to showcase the Hot Air Balloon Bundle to show it's versatility. I paired it with the coordinating Lighter Than Air 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to create the balloon and used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture for the background layer. For my card design, I wanted to create a stepped up clean and simple birthday card. I love that the Hot Air Balloon Bundle had what I needed to create a fun design and I chose to use one of the designs from the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper to create the pattern for the balloon. The sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon stamp set fits perfectly on the coordinating die and made it easy to layer with the banner die. For the background, I chose to use the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the Tahitian Tide cardstock layer that I die cut out using the Perennial Postage Dies. I added some clouds to create the look of the sky and I love the contrast between the white clouds and the Tahitian Tide background. The banner label and basket for the balloon were die cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and I added a Tahitian Tide Baker's Twine bow and some Basic Rhinestones to finish off the design. Isn't this card so cute and fun? I think it would look great in a wide variety of colors so that you could personalize it to suit the person you are giving it to. Why not give it a try.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 7 Parakeet Party

Welcome back for another week of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. We are already up to be Week 7 and this week we have been challenged to create a card using Parakeet Party, one of the 2022-2024 In Colors. This wonderful, vibrant green was a fun challenge to work with and I hope you like the card design I came up with.
When I was looking at ideas to showcase this bright green, I decided to use the Jungle Pals stamp set and coordinating Jungle Pals Dies, both Sale-a-bration products that you can earn free with a qualifying order. I also paired them with products from the Zoo Crew Suite Collection from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog to create a fun and whimsical birthday card. To add some texture to the design, I used one of the designs from the 2022-2024 In Color 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple and showcase how to create layers of color with this bold and pretty green.
Products Used:
Zany Zoo Bundle (item #161315)

Singing Turtle image die cut using the Zany Zoo Dies
I am always looking for ways to create fun, cheerful birthday cards that will help to brighten someone's special day. When I saw the cute images in the Jungle Pals stamp set, I just knew I had to use it for this card design. Parakeet Party is the perfect color for the alligator and I used the Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to color the image and add some subtle shading. I also used the Stampin' Blends Markers to add some color to the grass along with blending some Parakeet Party Classic ink onto the Parakeet Party cardstock to add some depth and texture to the die cuts. The adorable singing turtle is actually one of images in the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper and I die cut it out with one of the coordinating dies from the Zany Zoo Dies. The sentiment label was die cut with the Nested Essentials Dies from Basic White cardstock and I stamped the sentiment and music notes images with Tuxedo Black ink onto the label. For the card front, I chose one of the designs from the 2022-2024 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, and I love how it adds texture to the background of the card. I added the label to the center of the card front and then layered the grass along the bottom of the label. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the alligator and turtle on top of the layer of grass to add some dimension to the card design. To finish off the card, I added several Silver Sequins for a subtle touch of bling. Don't you just love how cute this card is? So have I convinced you to give Parakeet Party a try on your next project. Let me know what you think.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to give Parakeet Party a second look and explore creating your own beautiful projects using the wonderful coordinating products that Stampin' Up! has to offer. Inspire. Create. Share. February Blog Hop It's A Love Thing

Let's celebrate Valentine's Day with the Inspire. Create. Share February Blog Hop as we showcase the theme, It's a Love Thing. There are so many occasions throughout the year to show some love to the people in our lives. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their ideas and projects to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects to send to the people you care about.
My card design today is one that could be sent out any time of the year as a way to send some love to someone special. I paired the beautiful Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle to create a lovely clean and simple card design.  I blended some soft color onto the designer series paper layer to create an ombre effect, using Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve Classic ink pads. I love the subtle gold accents that help step up the design without being to over the top.
Products Used:
Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle (item #162889)
Bee Builder Punch (item #162553)
Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #162976)
Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward
Moody Mauve Cardstock (item #161721)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)

Moody Mauve Classic Ink Pad (item #161649)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Moody Mauve 3/8" Textured Ribbon (item #161630)
Festive Pearls (item #159963)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Moody Mauve Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Hearts punched out with the Bee Builder Punch
Basic White Cardstock
Sentiment Label stamped and punched out with the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle
Most Adored Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
To create this pretty card design, I added some Bubble Bath Classic ink to the designer series paper layer using a Blending Brush, blending from the top down to the center. Once I had the color intensity I was looking for, I blended Moody Mauve Classic ink with another Blending Brush, moving from the bottom up to the center, blending the two colors together in the middle to create the ombre look. I gently wiped the designer series paper to remove any ink on the Gold embossed hearts. For the sentiment label, I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder onto Basic White cardstock and punched out the sentiment with the coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. I took a piece of Moody Mauve Textured Ribbon and gently frayed both ends, leaving a section in the middle to apply adhesive to add it to the center of the card front. I added the sentiment label over the top of the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals and then added several Moody Mauve hearts punched out with the Bee Builder Punch. To finish off the design, I added several Gold Pearls from the Festive Pearls to coordinate with the rest of the card design. I love how pretty this card looks and how simple it was to create.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own love notes to send to the people you care about. There are so many wonderful options to explore. There is still time to earn the beautiful Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.
